Job summary

Orcapod Consulting Services is seeking a senior engineer specializing in automotive electronics design to lead system and hardware specifications, focusing on performance, safety, and cost. You will address cybersecurity and functional safety (ISO 26262 and ISO 21434) while guiding architecture decisions across electronics, mechanics and software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electronics or Computer Science.
• 10+ years of automotive electronic product design experience (power, digital, analog, RF, video, audio).
• Experience with mass production launches and mechanical integration.
• Strong knowledge of functional safety (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity (ISO 21434).
• Ability to propose alternative designs and collaborate across electronics, mechanics and software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct requirements analysis and manage system/hardware specifications.
• Define hardware product architecture considering performance, safety, and cost.
• Address cybersecurity and functional safety aspects in electronic designs.
• Perform in-depth hardware analysis for new concepts, platforms, and RFQs.
• Collaborate with purchasing and technical leaders on design-to-cost activities.
• Support supplier/customer technical meetings and occasional business trips.
• Drive innovation through technology surveys and architecture enhancements.
• Provide justifications for design choices and ensure compliance with standards.
• Contribute to architecture tools/templates (architecture diagrams, BOMs, power trees).
• Support demonstrator builds (A-samples) and foster synergy between architecture and design.
