Job Summary

The Gym Instructor is responsible for supervising the fitness centre, assisting hotel guests and members with exercise programs, ensuring safe use of equipment, and delivering a professional five-star guest experience in line with hotel standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Guest Fitness Support

• Welcome guests and members to the fitness centre in a professional and courteous manner
• Conduct basic fitness assessments and understand guest requirements
• Provide guidance on proper use of gym equipment and exercise techniques
• Prepare personalised workout plans when required
• Conduct personal training sessions and group fitness classes

2. Safety & Hygiene

• Monitor gym activities to ensure safe exercise practices
• Provide immediate assistance in case of injury or emergency
• Ensure all equipment is clean, sanitised, and in proper working condition
• Report faulty equipment or safety hazards to management immediately

3. Facility Management

• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the fitness centre
• Ensure towels, drinking water, and guest amenities are properly arranged
• Check daily equipment functionality before opening
• Follow hotel SOPs for maintenance and operational readiness

4. Guest Experience & Service Excellence

• Maintain grooming standards as per five-star hotel policies
• Handle guest queries related to fitness, wellness, and health programs
• Promote spa treatments, wellness packages, and personal training services
• Build strong guest relationships and encourage repeat usage

5. Administrative Duties

• Maintain attendance records and training logs
• Manage personal training schedules and bookings
• Prepare daily operational reports for the Spa/Health Club Manager
• Assist in membership enrolment and renewals where applicable

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Certification in Fitness Training / Personal Training from a recognised institute
• CPR & First Aid certification preferred
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a gym, hotel, or premium fitness centre
• Good communication skills in English (additional languages are an advantage)
• Strong knowledge of exercise techniques, equipment usage, and basic nutrition
• Customer-focused attitude with professional grooming standards

Working Conditions
