Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in computer science or related field; substitutions allowed for tech certs or experience.
• Six or more years in technology with three+ years in Guidewire configurations or integrations.
• Strong Java, API, and web security fundamentals; experience with modern SDLC and DevSecOps.
• Experience delivering in agile, global environments with effective communication.
• Experience with Guidewire platforms and integration patterns is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes, designs, configures, develops, tests, debugs, documents, and deploys Guidewire solutions in an agile environment.
• Applies secure software practices to protect applications, integrations, and data.
• Uses DevSecOps tools and techniques to support build, deployment, testing, and release activities.
• Configures Guidewire workflows, rules, and product model components; supports integrations.
• Develops and maintains integrations using APIs, messaging, and data exchange patterns.
• Troubleshoots defects and performance issues; drives timely resolution with peers and partners.
• Collaborates with product, QA, and architecture teams to deliver scalable solutions.

As a Guidewire Software Engineer, you will focus primarily on providing high-quality, efficient technology solutions to business partners by configuring, developing, integrating, and supporting Guidewire applications and related services. In this capacity, you’ll help deliver capabilities across core insurance functions such as policy administration, underwriting, rating, billing, claims, and related digital experiences. You’ll analyze, code, configure, test, debug, document, and maintain Guidewire components including product model configuration, business rules, workflows, integrations, and APIs that support policy lifecycle transactions, data exchange, and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyzes, designs, configures, develops, tests, debugs, documents, and deploys Guidewire solutions according to standards in an agile environment.


• Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to help protect applications, integrations, and data from threats and vulnerabilities.


• Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling, and techniques to support build, deployment, testing, and release activities.


• Configures and enhances Guidewire workflows, rules, product model components, integrations, and supporting services.


• Develops and supports integrations using APIs, messaging, batch processes, and data exchange patterns across Guidewire and adjacent platforms.


• Troubleshoots defects, performance issues, and production support items and drives timely resolution with peers and partner teams.


• Partners with product, QA, architecture teams to clarify requirements and deliver workable, scalable solutions.


• Drives continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice, and innovation.


• Manages medium- to large-sized project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables proactively.


• Collaborates effectively across India and global teams while adhering to company standards, security expectations, and engineering practices.

Qualifications & Experience

Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree.

Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.

Experience: Six or more years of technology experience. Three or more years of experience working with Guidewire applications, configurations, or integrations is preferred.

Technical Skills: CI/CD Cloud Computing Programming Languages: Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and or ClaimCenter Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Software Engineering Software Security Software Testing Systems Integration

Soft Skills & Attributes: Strong communication and collaboration skills Analytical and problem-solving mindset Ability to work in agile and global environments Time management and prioritization Ability to translate business needs into sound technical solutions Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript. Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle complex business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
