Growth Marketer

Salt Lake, Sector V, Kolkata (Work from Office)

Responsibilities:

• Ideate and plan a consistent content calendar for Instagram and YouTube, built around student stories, course explainers, campus life, mentor interviews, and placement wins.
• Conduct and direct regular content shoots testimonials, reels, short-form interviews, and behind-the-scenes campus content and maintain a disciplined publishing rhythm at regular, predictable intervals.
• Aggressively drive growth of Instagram and YouTube through influencer collaborations, content marketing, trend participation, and other organic growth tactics.
• Identify and build relationships with local Kolkata micro-influencers and education/career content creators for collaboration opportunities.
• Grow and actively manage the Desun Academy WhatsApp community, designing and implementing growth-hacking tactics to boost organic inbound enquiries.
• Plan and execute student workshops, seminars, and career-awareness sessions in colleges across Kolkata and surrounding regions.
• Organize on-campus and off-campus branding activities, open days, and community events, capturing each as content for the social media pipeline.

Requirements and Skills:

• 35 years of experience across content creation, social media growth, or brand/event marketing ideally a mix of two or more.
• Proven ability to grow an Instagram or YouTube channel from a near-standing start real numbers and real case studies expected.
• Comfortable being both behind and occasionally in front of the camera, with basic shooting and mobile/DSLR editing skills (Reels editing, VN Editor, CapCut, or Premiere Pro).
• Experience running or growing a WhatsApp community or similar nurture channel is a strong plus.
• Demonstrated event coordination experience planning logistics, managing vendors/colleges, and executing on the ground.
• Self-starter who can independently ideate content without waiting for direction, but who also takes structured feedback well.
• Willingness to travel locally for shoots, seminars, and college outreach as needed.
• Bonus: Existing network of Kolkata-based influencers, college contacts, or event vendors.
• Strong sense of visual storytelling and an eye for what makes content stop the scroll on Instagram and YouTube.
• Comfortable tracking and reporting on content/growth metrics followers, watch-time, engagement, and enquiry attribution to double down on what works.
• Proactive, high-ownership attitude comfortable planning, shooting, posting, and then walking into a college seminar hall to present, all in the same week.
