Job summary

Beratung Consultants seeks a Civil Engineer to manage and execute Green Building Certification projects in Mumbai. You will prepare and review documentation, coordinate with clients, architects, PMC, MEP consultants and contractors, and conduct site visits to verify compliance.

Candidates should have a Civil Engineering degree and 0–4 years of experience in green building or sustainability consulting, with exposure to LEED, IGBC, GRIHA or USGBC processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 0–4 years of relevant experience in Green Building or Sustainability consulting.
• Hands-on experience with LEED/IGBC/GRIHA/USGBC or other rating systems.
• Willingness to undertake site visits and attend project meetings.

Work Location: Mumbai
Working Hours: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Office Duration: 9 hours per day
Work Mode: Work from Office

Role & Responsibilities

• Manage and execute Green Building Certification projects, including LEED, IGBC, GRIHA, USGBC and other applicable rating systems.
• Prepare, review and maintain certification documentation as per project requirements and applicable rating-system guidelines.
• Manage documentation and submissions through relevant certification portals and prescribed templates.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, PMC, MEP consultants, contractors and other stakeholders to collect required information and supporting documents.
• Conduct site visits to gather project information, verify compliance and support certification requirements.
• Guide project teams on green certification requirements and compliance strategies.
• Attend project/site meetings independently or along with the Project Manager, as required.
• Support the Project Manager in day-to-day project execution and ensure deliverables are completed within defined timelines.
• Prepare project reports, certification documents, presentations and other project-delivery documentation.
• Develop and maintain case studies of completed projects for future reference.
• Maintain and regularly update databases related to green materials, products and sustainable solutions.
• Stay updated with changes in green building rating systems, sustainability practices, environmental regulations and regional developments.
• Understand project requirements and coordinate with supporting engineers and project team members for timely and quality delivery.
• Participate in weekly project meetings and maintain regular communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Act as a point of contact for assigned sustainability-related project activities.
• Coordinate with Architects, PMC, MEP Designers, Cost Consultants, Contractors and other consultants for smooth project execution.
• Provide sustainability-related technical advice and support within the scope of the project.
• Ensure project documentation and deliverables meet client requirements, quality standards and agreed timelines.
• Demonstrate good knowledge of relevant design standards, local codes and sustainability requirements.
• Maintain strong professional relationships with project stakeholders and ensure effective communication throughout project execution.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 0-4 years of relevant experience in Green Building, Sustainability Consulting or Green Certification projects.
• Hands-on experience with LEED / IGBC / GRIHA / USGBC or other recognized green building rating systems.
• Experience in preparing and managing green certification documentation and submissions.
• Working knowledge of certification portals and documentation requirements.
• Good understanding of green building concepts, sustainability practices, energy efficiency, water efficiency, materials and indoor environmental quality.
• Knowledge of relevant design standards, local building codes and environmental requirements.
• Experience coordinating with Architects, MEP Consultants, PMC, Contractors and other project stakeholders.
• Willingness to undertake site visits and attend project meetings as required.
• Strong documentation, coordination and project-management skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with clients and consultants.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize deliverables and work within strict timelines.
• LEED AP, IGBC AP, GRIHA certification or other relevant sustainability credentials would be an added advantage.
