Job summary

Staffing Global Network LLP is seeking a hands-on Graphic Designer to join our internal design and production team in Mumbai. You will turn client briefs into compelling print ads and layouts for newspapers, magazines, and other print publications.

The ideal candidate has strong print design experience, proficiency in Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop, and a portfolio that demonstrates typography, layout, and color execution.

Role Overview

This hands-on role combines creative advertising design with publication layout and print production. You will turn client requirements into compelling designs that showcase products and services, communicate their value, and encourage enquiries or purchases.

Key Responsibilities

• Design newspaper and magazine ads in quarter-page, half-page, full-page, and custom formats, using effective product presentation, imagery, typography, and calls to action.
• Interpret typed and handwritten client briefs, develop visual concepts suited to the target audience, and clarify unclear instructions or missing information.
• Create front and back covers, classifieds, editorial page layouts, product catalogs, and other print materials, arranging text and images for readability and visual impact.
• Work directly with clients to discuss requirements, explain design choices, incorporate feedback, and provide progress updates.
• Prepare and check print-ready artwork for accuracy, consistency, dimensions, bleeds, trim, image resolution, and color profiles.
• Manage multiple assignments against publication deadlines and maintain organized source files, linked assets, templates, and client styles. Adapt artwork for digital use when required.

Required Skills and Experience

• Print media and publication design experience is essential, supported by a portfolio of newspaper or magazine advertisements.
• Hands-on proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. QuarkXPress experience is an advantage but is not mandatory.
• Strong design judgment, attention to detail, and practical knowledge of typography, visual hierarchy, page composition, and print production.
• Excellent written and spoken English is essential, including strong reading comprehension, professional communication through email and instant messaging, and confidence on Zoom and telephone calls. You must be able to understand American accents and follow client discussions accurately.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, prioritize assignments, and deliver quality work under tight deadlines.
