About Us
Print Lab Trama is a digital textile printing unit in Ludhiana. We create and print designs for women's wear,
including ladies' suits, dupattas, kurtis, tunics and co-ord sets. We print mainly on cotton and viscose using an
Epson Monna Lisa industrial digital printer. We're looking for a creative, production-minded textile designer to
lead our print development.
Role Overview
You'll create original prints and production-ready files for our in-house collections and buyer orders. You'll work
closely with our printing team so that every design looks as good on fabric as it does on screen.
Key Responsibilities
- Design original prints for suit sets, dupattas, kurtis, tunics and co-ord sets, including florals, ethnic,
- traditional-inspired, abstract and contemporary styles.
- Create seamless repeats (straight, half-drop, brick and mirror) and engineered or placement prints, such
- as yokes, necklines, borders, pallus and daaman panels.
- Develop coordinated suit sets with a kurta, bottom and dupatta that work together.
- Prepare print-ready files at the correct size, resolution and colour settings for digital printing on cotton and
- viscose.
- Create multiple colourways and manage colour matching through strike-offs, colour charts and
- corrections.
- Adapt buyer references and briefs into original designs, and handle revisions quickly.
- Track trends in Indian and Indo-western women's wear and propose seasonal collections.
- Keep an organised, well-named design library and coordinate with the print operator and buyers.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Textile Design, Fashion Design or a related field (NIFT, NID, Pearl or equivalent
- preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in textile print design, ideally for women's ethnic wear. Strong freshers with an
- excellent portfolio may also apply.
- Advanced skills in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Knowledge of textile CAD software (such as
- NedGraphics, AVA or Pointcarré) is a plus.
- Solid understanding of repeats, colour separation, and how prints behave on cotton and viscose.
- Experience with digital textile printing, RIP software or strike-off approval is highly preferred.
- Strong sense of colour, composition and detail, and the ability to work to production deadlines.
- Willing to work full-time on site in Ludhiana.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary based on experience.
- Hands-on exposure to industrial digital textile printing.
- Creative ownership of collections and room to grow into a design lead role.
- A collaborative, fast-paced work environment.
