Job summary

Weekday AI’s client is seeking a fashion designer to support the design team from concept to final collection in Gurugram, Haryana, India.

The role requires 2–5 years of fashion design experience, a degree in Fashion/Textile Design, and proficiency in Illustrator/Photoshop, with a strong eye for color, fabrics, and embroidery. You will develop mood boards, assist in creating tech sketches, coordinate with sampling and production, and help ensure the product reflects the original design vision.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in fashion design or a related field.
• Degree/diploma in Fashion Design or Textile Design preferred.
• Strong understanding of fabrics, garment construction, embroidery, and surface techniques.
• Good sense of colour, proportion, detailing, and aesthetics.
• Proficiency in Illustrator/Photoshop or similar design software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing seasonal and occasion-based collections.
• Research trends, silhouettes, colours, fabrics, techniques, and references.
• Develop mood boards, concept boards, colour palettes, and collection stories.
• Create fashion illustrations, technical sketches, and design sheets.
• Work on fabric, embroidery, print, embellishment, and surface-development concepts.
• Source fabrics, trims, embroideries, and other materials.
• Coordinate with sampling and production teams for design development.
• Review samples and provide inputs on fit, colour, detailing, fabric, and finishing.
• Maintain design files, sample records, and collection documentation.
• Ensure the final product reflects the original design vision.
• Stay updated with fashion, textile, and design trends.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of fashion, textiles, colour, silhouettes, and surface development, along with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
