Job summary

Jamco America in Pune invites a motivated Trainee Electrical Design Engineer to join our Aerospace Engineering team. You will support the design, development, and documentation of electrical systems and harnesses for aircraft applications under the guidance of experienced engineers.

This role provides hands-on exposure to aerospace electrical design standards, tools, and processes, preparing you for a career in aircraft electrical design and integration.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of aircraft electrical wiring systems, components, and harnesses.
• Support preparation and modification of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation drawings.
• Perform basic electrical calculations (voltage drop, load analysis, circuit protection).
• Participate in 3D routing of electrical harnesses using CAD tools (CATIA V5/NX/Creo).
• Assist in creating and maintaining Bill of Materials (BOMs) and other engineering documentation.
• Work with senior engineers to ensure designs meet aircraft certification, reliability, and safety standards.
• Learn and apply aerospace design standards (such as AS50881, Boeing, Airbus, or MIL standards).
• Support design reviews, documentation updates, and change management activities.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Mechanical, Systems, Manufacturing) as needed.
• Assist in preparation of engineering documentation, design reports, and configuration control records.
• Participate in design reviews, contributing to continuous improvement in safety and reliability.

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Electrical Design Engineer to join our Aerospace Engineering team.

The selected candidate will support the design, development, and documentation of electrical systems and harnesses for aircraft applications under the guidance of experienced engineers.

This role offers hands-on exposure to aerospace electrical design standards, tools, and processes, preparing the candidate for a career in aircraft electrical design and integration. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following with other duties as assigned:

• Assist in the design and development of aircraft electrical wiring systems, components, and harnesses.
• Support preparation and modification of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation drawings.
• Perform basic electrical calculations (voltage drop, load analysis, circuit protection).

Preferred candidate profile

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Education: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical
• Software Knowledge (Preferred): CATIA V5 Electrical / AutoCAD Electrical.
• Basic understanding of electrical circuits, connectors, and wiring principles.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Eagerness to learn aerospace design processes and tools.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.

Desirable (Added Advantage):

• Familiar with aircraft systems (Power Distribution, Lighting, IFE, Galley, etc.)
• Knowledge of electrical standards (AS50881, MIL-W-5088, DO-160, etc.).
• Internship or academic project experience in aerospace or automotive electrical design.
• Focuses more on system-level design, integration, and certification aspects.
• May require deeper understanding of aircraft systems and regulatory standards.

Employment Type:

• Full-time / Trainee (612 months training program, with potential for absorption upon successful completion).

Career Path:

• Successful trainees may progress to Electrical Design Engineer or Wiring Harness Design Engineer roles, gaining deeper expertise in aircraft systems, certification, and electrical integration.
