Job summary

Suprajit Engineering, Bengaluru, Karnataka, seeks a Production Supervisor to oversee daily shop-floor operations, coordinate schedules and ensure targets are met while maintaining safety and quality on the line.

You will lead a team, drive continuous improvement initiatives, maintain production records, and collaborate with Quality, Maintenance and Planning to optimise throughput. BE/B.Tech in related field required; strong Excel/reporting skills essential; shift work encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of production processes and manufacturing principles.
• Basic understanding of quality systems and safety standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and production reporting.
• Computer proficiency (MS Office, MS Excel).
• Basic knowledge of 5S.
• Leadership, teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills; problem-solving and analytical thinking; time management and decision-making.
• Willingness to work in shifts.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
• Positive attitude and continuous learning mindset.
• Knowledge of control cables is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Daily Production Supervision: Supervise daily production activities and ensure smooth operations on the shop floor.
• Production Schedule & Target Achievement: Monitor production schedules and drive the team to achieve output targets.
• Quality & Process Adherence: Ensure adherence to quality standards and operating procedures. Identify production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Manpower & Shift Management: Allocate manpower and manage shift activities effectively. Train and guide production operators and technicians.
• Machine Performance & Downtime Reduction: Monitor machine performance and production efficiency, and minimise downtime by coordinating with the Maintenance team.
• Production Records & Reporting: Maintain production records and prepare daily reports on time.
• 5S, Lean & Continuous Improvement: Implement 5S, Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives in the assigned area.
• Safety, Health & Environment: Ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental regulations.
• Wastage Control & Productivity: Control material wastage and improve productivity.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate with the Quality, Maintenance, Stores and Planning departments for smooth production flow.
• Product Knowledge Control Cables: Develop working knowledge of control cable products and their manufacturing processes. Prior knowledge of control cables is an added advantage.
