Job summary

IDAC India Pvt. Ltd. in Pune invites fresh graduates to join as an entry-level CAD designer for plant modelling.

You will create and update 3D models of piping, equipment and structures under supervision, generate piping isometrics and general arrangement drawings, and extract bills of material from the model. You will follow drafting standards, maintain drawing registers, and support senior engineers in plot plans and layouts.

Qualifications

• Sound fundamentals in engineering drawing: projections, dimensioning, geometric tolerancing basics.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and equipment drawings.
• Working knowledge of CAD; exposure to 3D plant modelling is advantageous.
• Detail-oriented approach to drafting accuracy and revision control.
• Clear written and spoken English and willingness to take structured feedback.

Responsibilities

• Create and update 3D models of piping, equipment and structures under senior guidance; generate piping isometrics and general arrangement drawings.
• Extract bills of material from the model and manage revision control and drawing registers.
• Incorporate client and internal review redlines accurately and on schedule.
• Support senior engineers in preparing plot plans, equipment layouts and drawing submissions.
• Maintain project folders and ensure drafting standards are followed.
• Assist in coordinating across drawings and submissions for live international projects.

Job description

If you have just finished your engineering degree or diploma and you want to learn plant design properly — by modelling live international projects rather than watching someone else do it — this is that role.

Reports to Lead Engineer — Plant 3D Design

Level Entry level

The role

You will create and update 3D models of piping, equipment and structures under the direction of senior engineers; generate piping isometrics and general arrangement drawings and extract bills of material from the model; incorporate client and internal review redlines accurately and on schedule; maintain drawing registers, revision records and project folders to our drafting standards; and support senior engineers in preparing plot plans, equipment layouts and drawing submissions.

What we are looking for

• Sound fundamentals in engineering drawing — projections, dimensioning, and the basics of geometric tolerancing.
• Working knowledge of CAD; exposure to any 3D plant modelling package is an advantage but not a requirement.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, equipment drawings and vendor documents.
• A careful, detail-oriented approach to drafting accuracy and revision control.
• Clear written and spoken English, and a willingness to take structured feedback.
