Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced GPP Tester / Payments Test Analyst with strong hands‑on experience in Finastra Global PAYplus (GPP) and the banking payments domain.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for testing payment processing workflows across SWIFT and ISO 20022 messaging platforms, ensuring payment transactions are processed accurately across various stages, including validation, routing, clearing, and settlement.

The role offers an opportunity to work on large-scale banking transformation and payments modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform functional, system integration, UAT, regression, and end‑to‑end testing of payment applications.


• Work extensively on Finastra Global PAYplus (GPP) payment processing functionality.


• Validate end‑to‑end payment flows, including payment initiation, validation, routing, clearing, settlement, rejection, and exception handling.


• Test payment transactions across SWIFT MT and ISO 20022 messaging formats.


• Validate payment messages and ensure correct mapping and transformation between different formats.


• Prepare and execute test scenarios, test cases, test data, and test scripts.


• Perform integration testing between GPP and upstream/downstream banking systems.


• Validate payment data and transaction status using SQL/database queries.


• Perform API testing and validate request/response payloads where applicable.


• Identify, document, track, and manage defects using JIRA, ALM, or similar tools.


• Participate in defect triage, root‑cause discussions, and retesting activities.


• Support UAT and production-readiness activities.


• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, Payment SMEs, and other stakeholders to resolve issues.


• Contribute to test planning, estimation, execution, reporting, and release sign‑off.


• Ensure testing activities comply with banking and payment processing requirements.

Required Technical Skills

• Hands‑on experience with Finastra Global PAYplus (GPP) is mandatory/preferred.


• Strong understanding of the banking payments domain.


• Good knowledge of SWIFT MT messaging and payment messages.


• Good understanding of ISO 20022 messaging standards.


• Experience with payment processing, clearing, and settlement workflows.


• Strong SQL skills for database validation and reconciliation.


• Experience in API testing using tools such as Postman or similar.


• Experience with JIRA, ALM, or other test/defect management tools.


• Understanding of integration testing and end‑to‑end payment flows.


• Good knowledge of SDLC/STLC and QA processes.

Preferred Experience

Experience with one or more of the following will be an advantage:

• GPP implementation, migration, or upgrade projects.


• Payment modernization/transformation projects.


• ISO 20022 migration initiatives.


• SWIFT payment processing.


• Real‑time payments or cross‑border payments.


• Payment reconciliation and exception handling.


• Banking application integration testing.


• Automation testing exposure.

Candidate Profile

• 410 years of experience in software testing, preferably within banking/payments.


• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.


• Ability to understand complex payment workflows and identify transaction‑level issues.


• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.


• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.


• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
