Job summary

iTeach Schools runs free and high-impact schools and a college-to-career program for the most disadvantaged students in Pune and Navi Mumbai. You will identify and nurture relationships with government and NGO stakeholders, acting as the central contact for iTeach Schools and its partners to advance education access.

The role requires a graduate in Social Work, minimum two years in the social sector, and fluency in Marathi and English, with willingness to travel within Navi Mumbai and Panvel.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Identify and maintain relationships with government and NGO stakeholders.
• Serve as the communication channel between iTeach Schools and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with school leaders, social workers and admin to engage with stakeholders.
• Resolve issues between government bodies and iTeach Schools.
• Monitor government policies and update stakeholders accordingly.

The quality of school education available to students from low-income communities across India is abysmal. Responsibilities

• Identify, build and maintain relationships with all major school-related stakeholders - Administrative representatives: Municipal corporation, Education department, Zilla Parishad, State government, SSC board, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan etc. officials.
• Political representatives: Corporators, local leaders, community influencers.
• Be the communication channel and central point of contact between iTeach Schools and the stakeholders.
• Focus on building the relationship of our school's leaders, social workers, and admin associates with the stakeholders relevant to the school.
• Resolve issues between the government and iTeach Schools.
• Keep abreast of any government policies and procedures amendments and update the relevant stakeholders within and outside of iTeach Schools.

ll: Compliance & Systemic reform

• Obtain all necessary permissions and compliances for schools from relevant departments.
• Work with schools to put systems in place via MIS, reporting, and data review in each school regularly.
• Work with School social workers to set up, train and manage the School Management Committee.
• Build advocacy at the government level by working with other NGOs in the city.
• Find and provide access to different scholarships and government benefits for out students.

Education and Competencies

• Required: Graduate or above, with a major in Social work
• Required: Minimum 2 years experience in the Social Sector.
• Mandatory: Proficiency in reading, writing, and typing in Marathi and English.
• Preferred: Prior experience of working with government
• Willing and able to travel within Navi Mumbai and Panvel
