Job summary

Live Connections in India is hiring a seasoned Google Cloud Operations expert to drive reliability, security, and cost efficiency of GCP workloads. You will lead operations, design scalable infrastructure, and manage core GCP services while improving monitoring, incident handling, and CI/CD integration.

You will mentor junior engineers, implement IaC, and collaborate with DevOps teams to advance migration and modernization efforts across enterprise workloads.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years in Cloud Operations or related roles.
• Hands-on with Google Cloud Platform and GCP networking, IAM, Compute, Storage.
• Experience with GKE, Terraform, and containerized workloads.
• Strong scripting in Python or Shell; CI/CD automation experience.
• Knowledge of monitoring, logging, incident management, and DR.

Job description

Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Google Cloud Operations professional to drive the reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence of cloud platforms and enterprise workloads running on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role will work closely with engineering, infrastructure, security, DevOps, and application teams to ensure highly available and resilient cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead day-to-day operations and administration of enterprise workloads hosted on GCP.
• Design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable GCP infrastructure.
• Manage GCP services including Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, VPC, IAM, Load Balancing, Cloud Monitoring, and Cloud Logging.
• Drive cloud infrastructure reliability, availability, performance, and capacity management.
• Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues across infrastructure, networking, applications, and cloud services.
• Define and implement incident, problem, and change management processes for cloud environments.
• Automate operational activities using scripting and Infrastructure as Code.
• Work with DevOps teams to improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment reliability.
• Implement cloud security controls including IAM, service accounts, encryption, network security, and access governance.
• Support disaster recovery, backup, business continuity, and high-availability initiatives.
• Conduct root-cause analysis for critical incidents and drive permanent corrective actions.
• Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance and cost efficiency.
• Establish operational standards, runbooks, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with application and engineering teams during cloud migrations and modernization initiatives.
• Mentor junior cloud operations engineers and provide technical guidance.

Required Technical Skills:

• 8 to 12 years of experience in Cloud Operations, Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or related roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong knowledge of GCP networking, IAM, Compute, Storage, Kubernetes, and database services.
• Experience with GKE and containerized workloads.
• Robust understanding of VPC, subnets, firewall rules, load balancers, DNS, VPN, and network connectivity.
• Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
• Strong scripting knowledge in Python, Shell, or similar languages.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and deployment automation.
• Strong knowledge of monitoring and observability practices.
• Experience with incident management, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Understanding of cloud security and compliance practices.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix administration.
• Strong understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, and resilience engineering.

Good to Have:

• Google Cloud certifications such as Professional Cloud Architect, Qualified Cloud DevOps Engineer, or Professional Cloud Engineer.
• Experience with SRE practices and SLI/SLO/SLA frameworks.
• Experience with Anthos or hybrid cloud environments.
• Exposure to FinOps and cloud cost optimization.
• Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments. .
