GMR Group seeks a General Manager – Civil & Finishes to lead the Centre of Excellence for civil and finishes across airport projects. Drive technical excellence, standardization, and capabilities while ensuring safety, quality, and lifecycle efficiency at all sites.
Responsible for design reviews, value engineering, and governance, with focus on long-term asset performance and sustainability in both manpower and turnkey contracts.
The General Manager – Civil & Finishes is responsible for leading the Civil & Finishes Centre of Excellence (CoE) responsible for driving technical excellence, standardization, capability development, and operational support across airport projects. This role ensures consistent quality, safety, innovation, and efficiency in civil and finishes works across sites under both manpower and turnkey contracts.
Below are the key responsibilities and KPIs for this role.
Define and maintain electrical engineering standards, specifications, SOPs, and quality benchmarks across all airport projects.
Drive harmonization of practices for civil works and finishes across roads, runways, taxiways, aprons and auxiliary buildings.
Evaluate new technologies, materials, and methodologies for improving asset performance and lifecycle.
Track and report on key metrics such as surface durability, structural integrity, finish quality index etc.
Participate in internal and client reviews, representing civil & finishes works performance across airports.
Provide design inputs, BOQ validation, and technical reviews for structural systems, flooring, faade treatments, roofing, and interior finishes in new airport development or refurbishing projects.
Lead value engineering exercises to optimize designs with respect to CAPEX, OPEX, and sustainability outcomes.
Vet and approve electrical systems designs shared by OEMs/consultants while ensuring adherence to safety standards.
Support resolution for complex technical issues and drive hazard identification and mitigation practices.
Promote the use of eco-friendly construction materials, low-VOC finishes, and sustainable design elements in civil works.
Define asset lifecycle strategy for civil structures and interior finishes, including schedules for preventive maintenance, condition-based inspections, and durability benchmarks.
Develop lifecycle costing models and TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) projections for civil components (e.g., pavements, terminal finishes, faade elements) to support investment decisions.
Recommend and implement digital tools (CMMS, IoT sensors, etc.) to enable data-driven maintenance.
Develop health monitoring protocols and root cause analysis frameworks.
