Job summary

DoorDash seeks a Global Benefits Specialist to join the Total Rewards - International Benefits team on a 12-month fixed-term contract based in India. You will design scalable benefits programs and stand them up across multiple countries, working with People Ops, Payroll, Finance and external vendors for compliance and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • 4–6 years of experience in benefits, total rewards, or a related HR discipline.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in HR or business.
  • Knowledge of benefits compliance across multiple jurisdictions including India.
  • Familiar with HRIS platforms (Workday preferred) and benefits processes integration.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Data-driven with proficiency in Google Sheets and/or Excel; able to analyze data for decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Build and own key benefits initiatives end-to-end for India and other countries.
  • Support benefits enrollment cycles and improve administration processes (Workday).
  • Monitor regulatory requirements across markets to ensure compliance.
  • Contribute to budget tracking, analyze claims, and surface risk-based insights.
  • Support vendor management, broker/insurer liaison, renewals and RFPs.
  • Act as escalation point for People Operations on complex benefits queries.

About the Role

Were looking for a Global Benefits Specialist to join our Total Rewards - International Benefits team on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract based in India. This is a build-and-implement mandate: youll design and stand up new benefits programs and processes that can scale at speed through automation, working closely with People Business Partners, Payroll, Finance, Legal, and external vendors to ensure our benefits offerings are compliant and operationally excellent.

  • Build and own key benefits initiatives end-to-end, administering and supporting statutory and supplementary local benefits programs in India and across multiple other countries.
  • Support benefits enrollment cycles and drive improvements to administration processes and systems (preferably Workday).
  • Monitor regulatory requirements across relevant markets, ensuring benefit programs comply with local legislation, collective labor agreements, and industry standards, including Indias evolving Labour Codes as they come into force.
  • Contribute to budget tracking and reporting, analyzing claims and utilization data to identify trends, surface risks, and make data-informed recommendations.
  • Support vendor management activities, including day-to-day liaison with brokers and insurers, tracking performance, and supporting renewal and RFP processes.
  • Act as an escalation point for People Operations and employees on complex benefits queries, applying sound judgment to resolve sensitive issues and mitigate risk.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including; People Operations, People Business Partners, Procurement, Legal, Tax, and Finance to ensure smooth program delivery and alignment.
  • Develop and maintain employee-facing communications, including enrollment guides, FAQs, and digital content, to help employees understand and access their benefits.

  • You bring 4–6 years of experience in benefits, total rewards, or a related HR discipline, with exposure to multi-country benefit programs.
  • You hold a Bachelors degree or equivalent, ideally in HR or a business-related field.
  • You have working knowledge of benefits compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions, including India.
  • Youre familiar with HRIS platforms (Workday preferred) and understand how benefits processes integrate with SaaS HR systems.
  • Youre highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • You have a data-driven mindset, with advanced proficiency in Google Sheets and/or Excel, and are comfortable working with data to identify trends, detect errors, and support decision-making.
  • Youre proactive and solutions-oriented, able to work independently on assigned workstreams and escalated ambiguity appropriately.
  • You build strong relationships across functions and geographies, and have a growth mindset — eager to deepen subject matter expertise and take on increasing scope over time.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with near-native fluency in English, and can translate complex benefits topics into clear, employee-friendly language.
  • Youre comfortable working across time zones and engaging a global employee population via email, messaging, and video, and can prepare clear, well-structured reports and presentations for HR and business stakeholders.
