Job summary

TuneCore, Inc. in Mumbai seeks a GL Accountant to support general ledger accounting and financial closing for French entities. You will work closely with the France accounting team to ensure accurate records and timely reporting.

The role involves posting journal entries, performing reconciliations, and assisting with month-end and year-end activities, while upholding internal controls and documenting processes for knowledge transfer between teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or related field.
• Experience supporting general ledger accounting and monthly closings.
• Ability to prepare journal entries including accruals and prepayments.
• Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and closing activities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger accounts with proper documentation.
• Prepare and post journal entries including accruals and prepayments.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Carry out month-end and year-end closing activities within deadlines.
• Maintain fixed asset records and related entries.
• Reconcile intercompany balances and coordinate with teams to resolve differences.
• Review account movements and explain material variances.
• Prepare reporting schedules and documentation for the France accounting team.
• Support audits by providing reconciliations and documentation.
• Apply accounting policies and internal controls and escalate issues as needed.
• Document accounting procedures and share knowledge between France and Mumbai teams.
• Identify opportunities to simplify processes and automate recurring tasks.

Job description

Based in Mumbai, the GL Accountant will support the general ledger accounting and financial closing activities of French entities, working closely with the France accounting team to ensure accurate accounting records and timely reporting.

• Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure transactions are accurately recorded and supported by appropriate documentation.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation and other closing adjustments.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and follow up on outstanding items.
• Carry out month-end and year-end closing activities within agreed deadlines.
• Maintain fixed asset records and prepare related accounting entries.
• Reconcile intercompany balances and coordinate with the relevant teams to resolve differences.
• Review account movements and provide explanations for significant variances.
• Prepare reporting schedules and supporting documentation for the France accounting team.
• Support internal and external audits by providing requested reconciliations and documentation.
• Apply accounting policies and internal controls, escalating issues when necessary.
• Document accounting procedures and support knowledge transfer between the France and Mumbai teams.
• Identify opportunities to simplify processes, strengthen controls and automate recurring tasks.
