Job summary

T&M Services Consulting Pvt Ltd in Bhopal invites a GIS Developer specialized in Open Source technology to design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable web-based geospatial applications.

You will build interactive mapping interfaces, publish geospatial services (WMS/WFS/WMTS) with GeoServer and PostGIS, and work with OpenLayers/Leaflet/Mapbox, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern front-end frameworks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in GIS application development.
• Hands-on with GeoServer, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, and OGC standards (WMS, WFS, WMTS).
• Experience using OpenLayers, Leaflet, and Mapbox; JavaScript/TypeScript; Angular or React.
• REST APIs, Git, and SDLC understanding.
• Experience deploying and maintaining web-based GIS applications.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled GIS Developer - Open Source Technology to design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable web-based geospatial applications. The candidate will work on interactive mapping solutions, spatial data services, GIS APIs, and enterprise geospatial platforms using modern open-source GIS and web technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop web-based GIS applications, portals, and dashboards.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs for spatial data services.
• Build interactive mapping interfaces using OpenLayers, Leaflet, Mapbox, or similar libraries.
• Publish and manage geospatial services such as WMS, WFS, WMTS, GeoJSON, and KML using GeoServer or similar platforms.
• Work with PostgreSQL/PostGIS for spatial data storage, management, and querying.
• Perform spatial analysis, geospatial data processing, and coordinate transformations.
• Optimize GIS applications for large-scale spatial datasets and high-performance requirements.
• Integrate frontend and backend components into scalable GIS solutions.
• Work with Angular/React and JavaScript/TypeScript for GIS application development.
• Debug, test, troubleshoot, and maintain GIS applications.
• Follow Git/version control and software development best practices.
• Prepare technical documentation, deployment guides, SOPs, and system documentation.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers, backend developers, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate development and improve productivity.
• Work on emerging GIS technologies including real-time geospatial processing, AI/ML, 3D/WebGL GIS, mobile GIS, and large-scale spatial data processing.

Essential Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech in relevant discipline OR
• Postgraduate degree in IT/Computer Science or equivalent

Essential Skills & Experience

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in GIS application development.

• Knowledge of GeoWebCache and tile caching.
• Experience in GIS application performance tuning and optimization.
• Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes
• Understanding of Microservices Architecture
• Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience working in Agile development environments
• Exposure to AI/ML, AI-assisted development tools, 3D/WebGL GIS, real-time GIS, and mobile GIS applications.
