Job summary

Geonix International Pvt. Ltd. in India seeks a RAM Repair Engineer to diagnose, repair, and test memory modules at the component level, including DDR3/DDR4/DDR5 RAM for desktops, laptops and servers.

You will perform SMD soldering, reballing, and IC replacement, maintain repair reports, and ensure zero defects through final testing while following ESD SOPs and Geonix standards.

Qualifications

• Hands-on RAM repair experience in desktops, laptops or servers.
• Ability to diagnose memory-related faults from RAM modules and PCB traces.
• Proficiency in SMD soldering, desoldering and IC replacement.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair DDR3/DDR4/DDR5 RAM modules at the component level.
• Identify faults in memory ICs, resistors, capacitors and power circuits.
• Perform SMD soldering, desoldering and IC replacement.
• Carry out reballing of RAM ICs where applicable.
• Test repaired RAM modules and verify stability and compatibility.
• Maintain repair records and failure analysis documentation.
• Follow ESD safety standards and SOPs; meet daily TAT targets.
• Coordinate with Service Coordinator and Team Leader to achieve targets.

Job description

The RAM Repair Engineer is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing desktop, laptop, and server RAM modules at the component level. The role involves identifying hardware faults, performing precision soldering and component replacement, testing repaired RAM modules, and ensuring all products meet Geonix quality standards and turnaround time (TAT) requirements before dispatch.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faulty DDR3, DDR4, DDR5, and laptop/server RAM modules at the component level.
• Identify and troubleshoot faults related to memory ICs, resistors, capacitors, power circuits, and PCB tracks.
• Perform SMD soldering, desoldering, and replacement of defective electronic components.
• Carry out reballing and IC replacement wherever applicable.
• Test repaired RAM modules using memory testing tools and system test benches.
• Verify memory stability, compatibility, and performance before approving units for dispatch.
• Perform final quality inspection to ensure zero rework and high repair accuracy.
• Maintain repair reports, testing records, and failure analysis documentation.
• Follow ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) safety standards and company repair SOPs.
Coordinate with the Service Coordinator and Team Leader to achieve daily repair targets and TAT commitments.
• Analyze recurring failures and recommend preventive actions to improve repair quality.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe repair workstation.
• Continuously upgrade technical knowledge on new memory technologies and repair methodologies.
• Timely completion of assigned RAM repairs within defined TAT.
• High first-time repair success rate.
• Accurate diagnosis and reliable component-level repairs.
• Zero quality defects during final testing and dispatch.
• Proper maintenance of repair documentation and testing records.
• Compliance with Geonix quality standards and ESD procedures.
• Reduction in repeat repairs and customer complaints.

Educational Qualification

• ITI or Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, or a related technical discipline.
• Relevant certifications in electronics repair will be an added advantage.

Experience

• 1–3 years of hands-on experience in RAM, motherboard, or component-level electronics repair.
• Experience in diagnosing and repairing desktop, laptop, or server memory modules will be preferred.

Technical Skills

• Component-level repair of DDR3, DDR4, and DDR5 RAM modules.
• SMD soldering, desoldering, and IC replacement.
• Reballing of RAM ICs and related components.
• Circuit analysis and schematic reading.
