Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing product cost estimates for RFQs and new opportunities.
• Perform cost analysis of existing products to identify cost reduction opportunities.
• Prepare and validate BOMs for costing and costing master data maintenance.
• Analyze supplier quotations and support cost benchmarking and negotiations.
• Understand manufacturing processes and collect production data for costing.
• Support customer quotations with costing inputs and cross-functional inputs.
• Prepare MIS reports and costing dashboards.
• Generate reports on product profitability, material cost trends, supplier price changes, and cost variances.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Cost Estimation
  • Assist in preparing product cost estimates for RFQs and new business opportunities.
  • Prepare detailed cost break-up including raw material, bought-out parts, manufacturing, tooling, packaging, logistics, and overheads.
  • Support cost updates based on engineering changes and supplier price revisions.
• Cost Analysis
  • Perform cost analysis of existing products to identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Compare estimated cost with actual production cost and analyze variances.
  • Support value engineering and cost optimization initiatives.
    BOM & Product Data Management
  • Prepare and validate Bill of Materials (BOM) for costing.
  • Verify component weights, material grades, and process routes.
  • Maintain costing master data and product databases.
• Supplier Costing Support
  • Assist in analyzing supplier quotations.
  • Prepare cost comparison statements for alternate suppliers.
  • Support supplier cost benchmarking and negotiations through data analysis.
• Manufacturing Cost Analysis
  • Understand manufacturing processes such as:
    • Forging
    • Machining
    • Heat Treatment
    • Surface Treatment
    • Assembly
    • Injection Moulding
    • Stamping
    • Collect process cycle times and production data for costing.
• Customer Quotation Support
  • Assist in preparation of customer quotations.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, and Production departments for required costing inputs.
  • Support commercial discussions by providing cost analysis.
• Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Prepare MIS reports and costing dashboards.

• Generate reports on:

  • Product profitability
  • Material cost trends
  • Supplier price changes
  • Cost variance analysis
  • Use Excel for data analysis and report preparation.

• ERP & Documentation

  • Update costing data in ERP/SAP.
  • Ensure documentation is accurate and traceable.
