Job summary

Medico Hub in Lingasugur & Maski, Karnataka invites a Consultant General Surgeon to join a multi-speciality hospital. You will handle General Surgery OPD/IPD care, elective and emergency surgeries, and on-call duties, while coordinating with anaesthesiology and radiology teams.

Must hold MS or DNB General Surgery with valid Karnataka registration, strong laparoscopic and emergency skills, and a patient-centric approach. Immediate joiners preferred.

Qualifications

• MS or DNB in General Surgery with valid registration.
• Experience in independent surgical and emergency case-handling preferred.
• Willingness to work in Lingasugur & Maski locations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct General Surgery OPD consultations and manage IPD patients.
• Diagnose and treat elective and emergency surgical conditions.
• Perform general procedures per expertise and hospital privileges.
• Manage abdominal, GI, hernia, anorectal and soft-tissue conditions.
• Coordinate with anaesthesiologists and radiologists, and oversee on-call duties.
• Counsel patients and attendants about diagnosis, treatment options, and follow-up.

POSITION

Consultant General Surgeon

QUALIFICATION

• MS General Surgery
• DNB General Surgery
• Valid NMC / Karnataka Medical Council Registration

Experience

• Experienced candidates preferred
• Candidates with independent surgical and emergency case-handling experience will be given preference

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct General Surgery OPD consultations and manage IPD patients
• Diagnose and manage elective and emergency surgical conditions
• Perform general surgical procedures as per expertise and hospital privileges
• Manage abdominal, gastrointestinal, hernia, anorectal and soft-tissue surgical conditions
• Perform laparoscopic and open surgical procedures as per expertise
• Manage surgical emergencies, trauma and acute abdomen cases
• Provide pre-operative assessment and post-operative patient care
• Monitor surgical patients and manage post-operative complications
• Coordinate with Anaesthesiologists, Physicians, Radiologists, Intensivists and other specialists
• Counsel patients and attendants regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgery and follow-up
• Maintain accurate case sheets, operative notes, consent forms and discharge summaries
• Participate in emergency/on-call duties as per hospital requirements
• Follow hospital, NABH, infection-control and patient-safety protocols
