Job summary

Medico Hub is urgently hiring a Consultant Neurosurgeon in Maharashtra. The role involves OPD/IPD management, emergency care, and elective surgical procedures within a multi-speciality setting.

Applicants should hold MBBS with MS/DNB General Surgery and MCh/DNB Neurosurgery, plus valid NMC/Maharashtra registrations. Strong independent surgical and trauma experience is preferred. Immediate joiners welcomed.

Qualifications

• MBBS with MS / DNB in General Surgery and MCh / DNB in Neurosurgery are required.
• Valid NMC or Maharashtra Medical Council registration is mandatory.
• Experience in independent surgical and emergency neurosurgery is preferred.
• Strong clinical and surgical expertise in neurosurgery is essential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Neurosurgery OPD consultations and manage IPD patients.
• Diagnose and treat neurological and neurosurgical conditions.
• Evaluate and manage head injuries, brain and spinal disorders, intracranial lesions.
• Handle neurosurgical emergencies including head trauma and intracranial bleeding.
• Perform neurosurgical procedures per expertise and hospital privileges.
• Provide pre- and post-operative neurosurgical care.
• Monitor patients and manage post-operative complications.
• Coordinate with Neurologists, Intensivists, Anesthesiologists and Radiologists.
• Review CT/MRI and correlate investigations.
• Counsel patients and attendants on diagnosis, options, risks and follow-up.
• Maintain clinical records, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
• Participate in emergency/on-call duties as required.
• Follow NABH, infection-control and patient-safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Neurosurgery OPD consultations and manage IPD patients

• Manage neurosurgical emergencies including head trauma, intracranial bleeding and acute neurological deterioration

• Provide pre-operative assessment and post-operative neurosurgical care
• Monitor surgical patients and manage post-operative complications
• Coordinate with Neurologists, Intensivists, Anaesthesiologists, Radiologists and other specialists
• Review and correlate CT, MRI and other relevant investigations
• Provide timely intervention and referral for critical neurological cases
• Counsel patients and attendants regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgical procedures, risks and follow-up
• Maintain accurate clinical records, operative notes and discharge summaries
• Participate in emergency/on-call duties as per hospital requirements
• Follow NABH, infection-control and patient-safety protocols
