Role Description

The General Physician will provide comprehensive primary care services to patients, including conducting medical examinations, diagnosing common illnesses, prescribing appropriate treatments, and managing follow-up care. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing patient histories, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, offering preventive care and health education, and coordinating with nursing and pharmacy teams to ensure safe and effective treatment. The role also involves maintaining accurate medical records, adhering to clinical guidelines, and participating in ongoing training or case discussions to enhance quality of care. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Varanasi, requiring consistent presence at the facility to support patient needs.

Qualifications

• Strong clinical knowledge and hands-on experience in Medicine and Primary Care, with the ability to diagnose and manage a wide range of common conditions.


• Background in Family Medicine and preventive care, with skills in managing patients across different age groups and health profiles.


• Ability to collaborate effectively with Nursing staff and other healthcare team members to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.


• Experience in Training or mentoring clinical staff, and willingness to participate in ongoing professional development.


• Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution and valid medical registration/license as per local regulations.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain medical information clearly and build trust with patients and families.


• Commitment to ethical medical practice, attention to detail in documentation, and adherence to infection control and safety protocols.


• Prior experience in a clinic, hospital, or community healthcare setting is preferred; familiarity with local health needs in Varanasi is an advantage.
