Job summary

Khyber Industries in Srinagar invites applications for a Manager - Process / Production - VSK Operations to lead and direct routine activities as well as strategic initiatives to achieve short- and medium-term operating objectives in the VSK area.

Responsibilities include daily production planning, monitoring kiln production, analyzing kiln health, coordinating predictive maintenance, and driving process improvements to optimize production and costs.

Responsibilities

• Produce daily production planning in line with targets and execution plans.
• Create review mechanisms for supervision and monitoring of kiln production in each shift and ensure adherence to clinker production targets.
• Regularly analyze Kiln status with respect to production output, productivity, power used, heat and other performance parameters to understand kiln healthiness.
• Plan predictive maintenance schedules in coordination with maintenance team to improve kiln reliability and performance and minimize downtime.
• Review process parameters and correct deviations through analysis and solutioning.
• Prepare systems and processes for effective coordination of Kiln process and maintenance teams.
• Supervise corrective and preventive solutions such as regular changing of refractory and brick line to avoid frequent failure.
• Proactively drive process/system improvement initiatives such as modification and changes in processes to improve production and cost metrics.
• Conduct root cause analysis of breakdowns and parameter deviations to provide solutions for recurring problems.
• Carry out regular interactions with internal stakeholders such as maintenance teams, quality, Raw mill, Coal mill team, civil, safety etc.; Interact occasionally with external stakeholders such as vendors, contractors, OEM etc.
• Provide views to other departments for smooth functioning of the plant and improving processes, for example, views to commercial teams for better procurement of refractory

Key Responsibilities:

Plant Operations (VSK)

• Ensure Daily production planning in line with targets and execution plans.
• Create review mechanisms for supervision and monitoring of kiln production in each shift and ensuring adherence to clinker production targets.
• Regularly analyze Kiln status with respect to production output, productivity, power used, heat and other performance parameters to understand kiln healthiness.

Manufacturing Excellence

• Overall responsibility of all Kiln production & performance with respect to output rate, production, power used, heat and other critical production parameters.
• Regular review of power utilization, quality, production metrics & action planning to resolve any deviation.
• Execution of internal & external projects, material & manpower management, plant supervision & resolution of safety related issues & conflicts for all kiln in the plant.
• Down time analysis to identify & pin point the root cause.
• Identify process/system improvement initiatives to optimize overall operational costs & processes.
• Carry out overall cost, inventory & manpower optimization.

Employee Engagement & Safety

• Ensure nil lost time accidents through robust implementation of safety guidelines.
• Plan & provided the technical training to employees in coordination of HR team.
• Drive a culture promoting focus on environment, health and safety across the organization.
• Strengthen employee engagement levels in operations team building a positive working climate for all team members.
