Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced (Hands on) General Manager – Operations to lead and oversee all operational personal responsible for Fleet management- hardware and software services to our mining customers-related business activities across India.

This individual will be responsible for strategic planning, operational excellence, client deliverables, team leadership, fleet management, and driving overall business growth for the region.

The ideal candidate must have strong experience in mining operations, large team management, client relationship handling, and fleet management (mandatory).

Key Responsibilities

Mining Operations Management

• Oversee end-to-end product delivery operations across multiple sites in India.
• Ensure safety, compliance, productivity, and operational efficiency.
• Develop and execute strategies for production, resource utilization, and cost management.
• Implement best practices, SOPs, and industry standards to achieve consistent output.

Client Relationship and Deliverables

• Manage and strengthen relationships with key clients, contractors, and external stakeholders.
• Ensure timely delivery of client commitments and SLAs.
• Address operational challenges, escalations, and service-level concerns proactively.

Team Leadership and Development

• Lead, mentor, and manage cross-functional teams including operations, logistics, engineering, and support functions.
• Build high-performance culture and ensure continuous capability development.
• Drive accountability, KPIs, and performance metrics.

India Business Development and Growth

• Develop strategic initiatives to expand operations, open new sites, and increase market presence.
• Identify new opportunities in the mining sector and collaborate with leadership on expansion planning.
• Support bidding, proposals, and commercial discussions.

Fleet Management (Mandatory)

• Oversee the planning, utilization, deployment, and maintenance of mining fleet and heavy equipment.
• Ensure maximum equipment uptime, operational optimization, and lifecycle management.
• Work closely with maintenance and logistics teams to ensure cost-effective fleet operations.

Compliance, Safety & Risk Management

• Ensure 100% compliance with statutory, environmental, and safety regulations.
• Drive a strong safety culture across all mining operations.
• Assess risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Travel Requirements

• Regular travel to mining sites, client offices, and operational locations across India.

Requirements and Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in mining operations, preferably in large-scale or multi-site environments.
• Proven experience in fleet management (mandatory).
• Strong leadership background with experience managing large teams and complex operations.
• Excellent client-facing, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• In-depth knowledge of mining regulations, safety norms, and industry standards in India.
• Strong strategic, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage tight deadlines, and drive performance.
• Experience with technology-driven mining operations (GPS tracking, fleet analytics, automation tools).
• Prior experience handling business development or P&L responsibility.
