Job summary

Abhinna Investments is seeking a seasoned professional to lead statutory approvals and regulatory compliance for mining projects across India. You will coordinate Forest, Environment, DGMS, and SPCB clearances, ensuring timely licensing and project adherence.

The role involves liaising with government authorities, negotiating contracts with clients and vendors, and overseeing MDO selection and performance. Extensive travel and strong MS Office reporting will be essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in the mining sector is preferred.
• Mobility: Willingness and ability to travel extensively across India as required by the role.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, Hindi and Bengali.
• Computer Skills: Excellent working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint, for reporting, analysis and presentations.
• Candidates with experience in mine development, statutory and regulatory liaison, project management, government coordination, budgeting and operational management will be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and obtain all required statutory and regulatory approvals for mining projects, including Forest, Environment, Mining Lease, Mining Plan, Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS), explosives licences/permissions, State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) consents and other applicable clearances.
• Identify new mining business opportunities, leases, and commercial partnerships. Liaise with government authorities and stakeholders for mining-related matters. Negotiate and finalize contracts with clients, vendors, contractors, and MDOs. Coordinate tenders, commercial proposals, work orders, and agreements. Maintain business relationships and support mining project development. Coordinate with internal departments for timely execution of commercial activities.
• Coordinate with relevant government departments, regulatory authorities and other stakeholders at both State and Central Government levels to facilitate project approvals and implementation.
• Evaluate, select and coordinate the appointment of a Mine Developer and Operator (MDO), as applicable, and monitor performance against agreed contractual and operational deliverables.
• Ensure timely procurement, renewal and maintenance of all statutory licences, permissions, approvals and records required for mine development and operations.
• Manage industrial relations and stakeholder engagement, maintaining constructive relationships with employees, contractors, local communities, government authorities and other relevant parties.
• Travel across India as required for site visits, project reviews, regulatory coordination, stakeholder meetings and operational oversight
