A leading pharmaceutical company is looking to hire a General Manager – Business Finance to lead the finance function for its India business. This is a senior leadership opportunity to partner closely with business leadership, drive financial performance and support strategic decision-making for a large-scale business with an approximate revenue of ₹18,000 crore.

Designation: General Manager – Business Finance

Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat

Reporting To: Vice President – Business Finance

Team Size: 10 members

Business Scope: India business, with approximate revenue of ₹18,000 crore

Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Finance & Planning:

• – Lead budgeting, forecasting, annual operating plans and financial performance reviews for the India business.
• – Monitor financial performance against business plans and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
• – Drive financial planning and analysis to support business growth and profitability.

2. Commercial & Sales Finance:

• – Partner with business and commercial teams on pricing, costing, profitability analysis and margin management.
• – Evaluate business performance and identify opportunities to improve revenue, margins and cost efficiency.
• – Provide financial insights to support commercial decisions and business priorities.

3. Business Partnering:

• – Work closely with business leadership to align financial objectives with overall business strategy.
• – Provide data-driven recommendations to support strategic and operational decision-making.
• – Support resource allocation and evaluate business proposals from a financial perspective.

4. Strategic Finance & M&A:

• – Work closely with the Vice President on strategic initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions.
• – Support financial analysis and evaluation of strategic business opportunities.
• – Contribute to business planning and initiatives aimed at driving sustainable growth.

5. Performance Management:

• – Analyse business and financial performance, identify key drivers and recommend corrective actions.
• – Drive cost optimisation, margin improvement and financial discipline across the business.
• – Establish effective performance monitoring and reporting mechanisms.

6. Team Leadership:

• – Lead, mentor and develop a team of approximately 10 finance professionals.
• – Build a collaborative, performance-oriented team and strengthen business-finance capabilities.

Candidate Profile:

• – Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) – mandatory.
• – Relevant experience in Business Finance, Commercial Finance, Sales Finance or FP&A.
• – Candidates from the pharmaceutical or Consumer/FMCG industry preferred.
• – Strong understanding of the Indian market and domestic business dynamics.
• – Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, profitability analysis and business partnering.
• – Exposure to M&A, strategic finance or evaluation of business opportunities will be an advantage.
• – Strong analytical, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• – Proven ability to lead teams and influence business decisions.
