Job summary

Dgaj Consultancy Services seeks a capable Station Operations Manager to oversee daily fuel-station activities and lead a frontline team in Navi Mumbai. You will manage staff rosters, oversee cash handling, inventory, safety, and service quality while driving customer satisfaction and sales growth.

Experience in fuel retail, strong leadership, and the ability to work under pressure are essential; flexibility for shifts and relocation is valued.

Qualifications

  • Graduate in any discipline (B.Com, BBA, BBM or equivalent preferred).
  • 35 years of experience in fuel stations, retail operations, logistics, FMCG, automobile dealerships or a similar customer-facing business.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team.
  • Good understanding of cash handling, billing, inventory management and daily operational controls.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting, MS Excel, MS Word and email communication.
  • Sales-oriented with the ability to develop customer relationships and identify business growth opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, make sound decisions and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Honest, trustworthy and highly accountable with strong attention to detail.
  • Customer-focused with a proactive and positive attitude.
  • Willing to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays, if required.
  • Preference given to candidates residing near the job location or willing to relocate.
  • Candidates with prior experience in HPCL, BPCL, IOCL, Nayara, Shell, Reliance or other retail fuel outlets will have an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the fuel station, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
  • Supervise, guide and monitor pump attendants, cashiers and other station staff.
  • Prepare staff duty rosters and ensure adequate manpower during all shifts.
  • Monitor fuel inventory, lubricants and other stock, ensuring accurate stock reconciliation and timely replenishment.
  • Handle daily cash collection, billing, bank deposits and cash reconciliation with complete accuracy.
  • Maintain all operational records, reports and documentation as per company and statutory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality procedures and regulatory guidelines applicable to fuel stations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with fleet owners, transporters, commercial customers and local businesses to increase sales.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities to drive fuel, lubricant and other retail sales.
  • Monitor daily sales performance and implement initiatives to achieve monthly sales targets.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers and service providers for smooth station operations.
  • Address customer queries and complaints promptly while ensuring a high standard of customer service.
  • Monitor operational expenses and recommend cost-saving measures without compromising service quality.
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly MIS reports covering sales, inventory, cash and operational performance.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of station equipment and coordinate with service teams for repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Recruit, train and evaluate staff, ensuring discipline, productivity and adherence to company policies.
  • Maintain cleanliness, housekeeping and overall presentation of the fuel station.
  • Take complete ownership of the station's operational performance, profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the management to support business growth and operational excellence.
