Job summary

SAP Fioneer is building a world-class Finance Shared Services Center in India and seeks a detail-oriented GL Accountant to manage invoices, cash application, and ledger maintenance.

You will collaborate across internal teams and customers, ensure tax compliance, and support month-end close in a dynamic, tech-driven environment.

Qualifications

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• 2-4 years of experience in General Ledger accounting, ideally within a shared services or multinational environment.
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA or similar ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of Indian tax regulations (GST, TDS) and compliance frameworks.
• Sharp attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to take ownership and work independently.
• Confident communication skills and a positive, collaborative team spirit.

Responsibilities

• Process customer invoices, cash application and postings in SAP S/4HANA.
• Perform cash application, drive collections, and monitor AR aging.
• Post journal entries, accruals, and provisions; maintain GL records.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with sales, finance, IT and business teams; respond to inquiries.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process standardization.

Your Mission

As an GL Accountant in our SSC, you’ll take ownership of the accurate and timely processing of customer invoices, cash application, and collections, as well as the maintenance of the general ledger and period-end close, ensuring compliance with Indian and global tax and regulatory requirements, and play a key role in supporting our global finance operations. Partnering closely with internal teams and external customers, you’ll uphold service quality and help drive continuous improvement in a dynamic, technology-driven environment where your ideas truly matter.

What You’ll Do

General Ledger Operations

Process customer invoices and record incoming payments accurately and on time in SAP S/4HANA, ensuring full compliance with company policies, Indian tax laws (e.g., GST, TDS), and regulatory requirements.

• Perform cash application, drive collections, and monitor accounts receivable aging to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and provisions, and maintain accurate, well-documented general ledger records.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including AR and GL reconciliations, and deliver accurate, timely reports to stakeholders.
• Collaboration & Support
  • Coordinate with sales, finance,IT, and business teams to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support transition and stabilization of AR and GL processes within the SSC.
• Process Improvement
  • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.
  • Contribute to standardization and documentation of AR and GL processes.
• Support implementation of digital tools and enhancements in SAP S/4HANA

What You Bring
