About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Financial Close and Consolidation Executive to join our dynamic Finance team within our Financial Shared Services center. The role focuses on ensuring accurate and timely support to local finance teams for financial close and reporting processes, as well as the consolidation of financial data across our global organization.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Closing
- Collaborate with various user departments (e.g., Business Finance, Sales, Marketing, Procurement, Admin) to gather financial data and ensure the accuracy and completeness of entries during month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close.
- Provide support for reconciliations of accounts, investigate discrepancies, and ensure appropriate adjustments are made.
- Prepare and post journal entries in SAP with sufficient supporting documentation.
- Review ledger balances and prepare audit schedules to support balances reflected in financial statements.
- Work with local finance teams to gather necessary data and explanations, providing support during adjustments and reconciliations.
- Prepare daily/weekly bank reconciliations and ensure balances match statements and bank confirmations.
- Clear aged GRIR balances and follow up with business users to maintain GL hygiene.
Fixed Asset Accounting
- Ensure creation of internal orders and assignment of AUC in accordance with approved CER requests.
- Review Capital Work in Progress balances regularly and ensure timely capitalization of completed or pending projects.
- Perform timely depreciation runs to maintain accurate financial records.
- Manage disposal, impairment, or write‑off of fixed assets in accordance with Ind AS and policy.
- Develop reconciliation schedules consistent with the trial balance to ensure reporting accuracy.
Intercompany Accounting
- Record intercompany transactions accurately and timely, ensuring adherence to accounting principles and company policies.
- Process intercompany invoices, receipts, and payments with proper documentation.
- Regularly reconcile intercompany accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare and present intercompany account reconciliations for review and approval.
- Investigate and resolve intercompany‑related issues, addressing inquiries from stakeholders across markets.
- Implement corrective actions to prevent future discrepancies and errors.
- Collaborate with various departments and entities to ensure proper transactional flows.
- Continuously assess and enhance intercompany processes to streamline operations and increase accuracy.
- Ensure month‑end balances are correctly eliminated during consolidation.
Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, international accounting standards, and transfer‑pricing regulations.
- Maintain adequate controls and approvals at all times.
- Assist in preparing local and consolidated financial statements for management, board meetings, and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of financial reporting processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities for RTR process optimization, automation, and standardization within financial accounting and close processes.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional and operational excellence teams to implement improvements and enhance overall efficiency.
Audit Support
- Assist with internal and external audit requests by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Support timely audit closure and assist in query resolution.
- Address audit findings and implement corrective actions as needed.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional qualification such as CA Inter or CMA (desirable).
- Proficiency in Spanish language required.
Experience
- Experience in Record‑to‑Report, Bank Reconciliation, intercompany accounting, controlling, or consolidation.
- Experience in a financial shared services environment preferred.
- Prior exposure to IFRS and Ind AS essential.
- Proven track record of successfully managing the financial close process for complex organizations advantageous.
Key Skills
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA mandatory; familiarity with other SAP modules (ICMR, FCC, Accrual Engine) and BPM Solution a plus.
- Excellent command of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data manipulation).
- Familiarity with financial consolidation tools and software.
- Strong understanding of Ind AS and IFRS application.
- Knowledge of tax regulations in India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and Africa.
- Experience with Tableau, Power BI, QlikSense, Alteryx, or similar data‑visualisation platforms.
- Familiarity with data‑integration and automation tools that enhance closing efficiency.
Soft Skills
- Proficiency in English; additional proficiency in Bahasa, Portuguese, or Spanish a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to data integrity.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Effective communication skills for interaction with finance teams, auditors, and management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Team player with capability to collaborate across geographies and cultures; proactive attitude toward process improvement.
