Job summary

Omnicom invites applications for a Senior Associate to join its R2R finance team in Mumbai. The role covers General, Intercompany, and Fixed Asset accounting, along with treasury and master data management within a fast-paced services environment for multiple agencies.

The candidate will supervise Associates, ensure accuracy of journals, reconciliations, and period closes, and support audits while maintaining high service levels and process discipline.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of work experience in a similar role.
• Advertising industry experience preferred.
• Graduation required; CA preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GL accounting, treasury & cash management and master data management.
• Excellent communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Review and post manual journal entries in Vantage.
• Review intercompany balances and reconciliation.
• Maintain GL integrity per US GAAP and group policies.
• Process and review treasury and cash management activities.
• Manage fixed assets accounting and depreciation calculations.
• Oversee master data creation and maintenance (COA, company codes, cost centers).
• Support audits and provide SME guidance within the team.

Job description

The Senior Associate is responsible for performing activities related to Accounting (General, Intercompany, Fixed Assets), Cash Management and Master Data Management function and overseeing transactions performed by Associates, which services a number of advertising agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

General and IC Accounting

• Review & Post manual Journal Entries before posting in Vantage
• Review recurring expense accruals calculations
• Update exchange rates and foreign currency revaluation
• Review and support in reconciliation of Intercompany balances
• Review adjustment entries and resolve discrepancies related to Intercompany accounting
• Maintain the integrity of the General Ledger, including compliance with OMC accounting processes in accordance with US GAAP and group policies

Master Data Management

• Review request related to creation & maintenance of Chart of Accounts, Company codes, Cost centres, Vendor Master Data, Client master data as per requests received from Agency Local Finance and processed as per agreed guidelines

Treasury & Cash Management

• Review “Cash and Debt Database” schedule
• Prepare monthly cash forecasts for OMCs SSC
• Review bank account reconciliation and follow up with applicable stakeholders where any anomalies are found

Fixed Assets (FA) Accounting

• Review maintenance of FA inventory (FA register)
• Review calculations of asset depreciation
• Review request for FA maintenance and disposal

Other R2R related Responsibilities

• Resolve Agency Local Finance queries within defined timelines
• Assist client and external audit process when necessary
• Supervising activities within process
• Assisting Team Leads in productivity and work load management for their respective areas
• Supporting TLs in Leave and Attendance management for their respective areas
• Cross training activities
• Act as Subject matter experts within the team

Knowledge and Experience

• 6+ years of work experience in a similar role
• Experience in Advertising industry preferred
• Minimum Education Qualification – Graduation; Preferred Qualification – Chartered Accountant
• Good knowledge of concepts and procedures related to GL accounting, Treasury & Cash management and Master Data Management
• Ability to provide high level of customer service
• Strong written and oral communications skills in English
• Strong problem solving and organizational skills
• Experience with, and competence in using, integrated ERP software (SAP would be a distinct advantage)
• Excellent computer skills and competency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience in SAP
