Job summary

Cloudxtreme seeks a focused AI prompt engineer to design and refine prompts, system prompts, and multi-step workflows for reliable LLM outputs. The role involves collaborating with product, software and data science teams to translate requirements into robust AI behaviors.

The ideal candidate has an analytical background with some technical skills, experience with AI/agentic apps, and excellent English communication for writing effective prompts and maintaining documentation.

Qualifications

• Analytical background (BA or data analytics) with some technical skills.
• Experience with AI/agentic applications.
• Strong written and spoken English for prompt writing and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and refine prompts, system instructions, and multi-step workflows for accurate, safe outputs.
• Collaborate with product, software, QE and data science teams to implement reliable AI behaviors.
• Identify and remediate model failure modes (hallucinations, inconsistency, bias, unsafe responses).
• Define and maintain prompt templates and standards for scalable AI solutions.
• Contribute test scenarios, evaluation criteria and regression strategies for prompt changes.
• Support measurement and experimentation including A/B testing and latency/cost optimization.
• Document prompt logic and design decisions to support long-term maintainability.

Role & responsibilities

• Design, develop, and continuously refine prompts, system instructions, and multi step workflows to drive accurate, safe, and business aligned outputs from LLMs.
• Partner with product, software engineering, QE, and data science teams to translate requirements into reliable, production ready AI behaviors.
• Identify and remediate model failure modes such as hallucinations, inconsistency, bias, or unsafe responses through prompt iteration and guardrails.
• Define and maintain prompt patterns, templates, and standards to enable scalable, reusable, and maintainable AI solutions.
• Support AI quality and release readiness by contributing test scenarios, evaluation criteria, and regression strategies for prompt changes.
• Collaborate on measurement and experimentation, including A/B testing, offline evaluations, and performance optimization (latency, cost, token usage).
• Document prompt logic, design decisions, limitations, and best practices to support long term maintainability and cross team adoption.

Background:
Ideally someone with an analytical background (BA, data analyst,) who has moved into this space with some light technical skills.
Experience working on AI/agentic applications
Good communication skills and strong English language (will need to write/maintain prompt that work -? requires good language skills).
