Job summary

LLM Decode in India is seeking a creative and technically skilled Prompt Engineer to design, test, and optimize prompts powering AI-driven products and workflows.

You will collaborate with AI engineers, product managers, and customers to improve accuracy, reliability, and safety of LLM-based applications, including RAG and AI agent workflows.

Responsibilities

We're looking for a creative and technically skilled Prompt Engineer to design, test, and optimize prompts that power AI-driven products and workflows. You'll collaborate closely with AI engineers, product managers, and customers to improve the quality, accuracy, and reliability of LLM-based applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, write, and optimize prompts for Large Language Models across diverse use cases.
• Develop prompt libraries and reusable prompt templates for enterprise applications.
• Evaluate AI responses and continuously improve prompt performance for accuracy, consistency, and safety.
• Collaborate with AI Engineers to build Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and AI Agent workflows.
• Create structured prompts using function calling, JSON outputs, and chain-of-thought alternatives where appropriate.
• Test prompts across multiple LLMs, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, and open-source models.
• Document prompt engineering best practices and maintain prompt versioning.
• Analyze user feedback and AI performance metrics to enhance response quality.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in Generative AI and prompt engineering techniques.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI concepts.
• Experience writing and optimizing prompts for AI applications.
• Familiarity with OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or similar LLM platforms.
• Understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and AI Agents is a plus.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written communication and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using tools such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or Promptfoo.
• Familiarity with prompt evaluation, AI safety, and hallucination mitigation.
• Experience working with structured outputs, function calling, and agentic AI workflows.
• Portfolio of prompt engineering projects, AI experiments, or GenAI applications.
