Job summary

Epam Systems is seeking an experienced GCP Architect to design and manage cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. The role focuses on deploying containerized workloads on GKE, implementing secure IAM policies, and maintaining robust observability using Cloud Logging and Monitoring.

The candidate will lead Terraform-based infrastructure as code, integrate GitLab CI/CD for both infrastructure and application workloads, and collaborate across teams to ensure scalable and secure cloud solutions.

Qualifications

• Must-have: GCP core expertise and hands-on GKE deployment experience.
• Extensive knowledge of VPCs, subnets, firewalls, and load balancing.
• Experience with Cloud Logging/Monitoring and observability.
• Strong IAM, security, and Workload Identity Federation.
• Java app deployment to GKE using GitLab CI/CD.
• Terraform code for production environments.

• GCP Core Expertise (Must-Have):
• GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine): Deep hands-on experience deploying, managing, and scaling containerized workloads.
• Networking: VPCs, subnets, firewall rules, load balancing, and hybrid connectivity.
• Logging & Monitoring: Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, alerting, and observability best practices.
• Cloud SQL & Databases: Management, performance tuning, and robust backup/restore policies.
• Security & IAM: Identity and Access Management, service accounts, and Workload Identity Federation.
• Experience with deploying the Java application to GKE using Gitlab CI/CD
• Infrastructure as Code: Expert-level proficiency in writing and maintaining Terraform code for production environments.
• CI/CD Tooling: Proven experience designing and writing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI for both infrastructure and application workloads.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven track record of effective cross-team collaboration and stakeholder management.

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills

• Hands-on experience with HashiCorp Vault for secrets management.
