Job summary

Evoke HR is assisting a client in Chennai to hire a Functional Safety Engineer with ISO 26262 expertise for automotive E/E systems.

We seek professionals with 4-10 years experience, holding B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech, to drive safety activities across the lifecycle and collaborate with system/hardware/software teams.

Qualifications

• Experience with ISO26262 Part 2,3 & 4 development.
• Experience performing HARA.
• Experience deriving safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Drive and support functional safety activities across the product lifecycle, ensuring ISO 26262 compliance.
• Develop and maintain functional safety management plans for automotive E/E systems.
• Lead Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessments (HARA) to identify safety goals and ASILs.
• Define and develop Functional Safety Concepts (FSC) and Technical Safety Concepts (TSC).
• Derive and allocate functional and technical safety requirements to system and software architectures.
• Perform safety analyses such as FMEA, FTA, and FMEDA at various abstraction levels.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (system, hardware, software, test) to implement safety measures.
• Support safety verification and validation to achieve safety goals and reduce risk.
• Contribute to safety cases and safety assessments for compliance.

We are looking for experienced Functional Safety Engineers with strong expertise in ISO 26262 and automotive E/E systems.

Experience: 4 - 10 Years

Qualification: B.E / B.Tech / M.E / M.Tech

Domain: Automotive preferred

Preferred candidate profile

• Skills: Functional Safety, FTA, DFMEA
• ISO 26262 Parts 2,3,4 and 9. Automotive domain experience preferred.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Drive and support functional safety activities throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with ISO 26262.
• Develop and maintain functional safety management plans and processes for automotive E/E systems.
• Lead Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessments (HARA) to identify safety goals and ASILs.
• Define and develop Functional Safety Concepts (FSC) and Technical Safety Concepts (TSC).

Must have

• Proven experience working with ISO26262 Part 2, 3 & 4 development.
• Proven experience in performing HARA.
• Proven experience in deriving safety requirements

Domain Knowledge

• ISO 26262 Parts 2,3,4 and 9. & Tools: Magic Draw

Additional Skills

• SysML knowledge and FMA expertise are value added

Knowledge on Functional Safety validations using HW or virtual will be an added advantage.
