Job summary

Tekskills Bengaluru is seeking a software development engineer to design and implement scalable services. You will work with SDEs across teams to build robust applications and automate deployments in Kubernetes environments.

You will take ownership of components or services, mentor juniors, and contribute to process improvements while prioritizing high-impact tasks. A proactive, problem-solving mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Proficient in at least one major programming language and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes and cloud-native services.
• Familiar with OAuth/SAML identity models and security concepts.
• Experience with TDD/BDD, performance and security testing.
• Ability to mentor juniors and contribute to hiring.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support software applications, simplifying complex tasks for users.
• Problem Solving: Design and implement solutions with a fair level of autonomy.
• Collaboration: Work with other SDEs within the team or peer teams.
• Proactivity: Seek direction proactively in case of ambiguities or constraints.
• Ownership: Deliver major components or small services as part of feature delivery.
• Process Improvement: Suggest enhancements to processes and methodologies.
• Mentorship: Mentor and guide junior SDEs and assist in hiring.
• Prioritization: Identify and work on high-priority tasks.
• Programming: Proficiency in at least one major programming language and understanding of distributed systems.
• Kubernetes: Proficiency in developing services that run in Kubernetes environments.
• CI/CD: Knowledge of continuous integration and delivery, and related tooling.
• Design: Ability to identify and implement design patterns, write clean code, and understand domain modelling.
• Infrastructure: Good working knowledge of operating systems and scripting/automation within relevant environments.
• Security: Understanding of OAuth/SAML and identity models.
• Test-Driven Development: Experience with BDD/TDD, performance, security, and smoke testing.
• Debugging: Ability to debug and resolve complex issues.
• Integration: Understanding of integration patterns and leveraging existing functionality.
