Qualifications

• 5+ years building and shipping production web apps.
• Strong TypeScript, React and Next.js skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship features end to end across Next.js web apps and Bun backend.
• Use AI coding tools to plan work, guide direction, and iterate until quality is met.
• Review AI-generated code for correctness, security and performance.
• Design APIs and database schemas with Prisma and PostgreSQL as product grows.
• Integrate AI features into the product, such as LLM-powered guidance and content generation.
• Contribute to React Native mobile apps with senior mobile engineer.
• Write and maintain tests, monitor production and fix issues quickly.
• Share prompts, workflows and review practices to improve AI usage.

We're hiring an experienced full stack engineer who loves building with AI, to own features end to end across our web apps, backend and mobile apps.

Lifology is an AI-powered career and college readiness platform that helps students discover who they are and plan where they're going. You'll join a small, senior team where your work reaches students directly and your decisions shape the product and its architecture.

What you'll do

• Build and ship features end to end across our Next.js web apps and Bun backend, from data model to UI.
• Use AI coding tools as your main way of writing code: plan the work, give clear direction, and iterate until the output meets our standards.
• Review AI-generated code rigorously for correctness, security, performance and maintainability.
• Design APIs and database schemas with Prisma and PostgreSQL that stay clean as the product grows.
• Integrate AI features into the product itself, such as LLM-powered guidance, recommendations, real-time communication and content generation.
• Contribute to our React Native mobile apps, working with our senior mobile engineer.
• Write and maintain tests, monitor production, and fix issues quickly when they come up.
• Improve how the team uses AI: share prompts, workflows and review practices that work.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years building and shipping production web applications, with real ownership of what you built.
• Strong TypeScript, React and Next.js skills, including server components, routing, data fetching and rendering strategies.
• Solid backend experience with Node.js or Bun: API design, authentication, background jobs and error handling.
• Good working knowledge of PostgreSQL and an ORM like Prisma, including schema design, migrations and query performance.
• Comfort building responsive, polished interfaces with Tailwind CSS.
• Hands-on, daily experience coding with AI tools, and a clear view of where they help and where they fail.
• A sharp eye in code review: you catch bugs, security gaps and poor design before they ship.
• Experience with testing, Git workflows, CI/CD and deploying to the cloud.

Strong advantages

• React Native experience (highly valued). You've built or contributed to a React Native app and understand how mobile differs from web. Experience with Expo, app store releases or mobile performance is a big plus.
• Building AI into products. You've integrated LLM APIs into real applications, using techniques such as prompt design, structured outputs, retrieval (RAG), streaming responses or evaluating output quality.
• Experience with Bun specifically.
• Experience in EdTech or building products for students.
