Job summary

Team Geek Solutions in Chennai is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join a cross-functional development team. You will work with Java/Kotlin, AWS, and modern DevOps practices to build scalable solutions.

The role requires 6+ years of full-stack experience, API development, and strong SQL skills. You will collaborate with DevOps, QA, and frontend React developers to deliver end-to-end features and maintain infrastructure and monitoring.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of full-stack application development in Kotlin/Java and AWS.
• 5+ years of experience developing APIs for front-end applications.
• 5+ years of strong experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• 2+ years of experience with CI/CD tooling (CircleCI, GitHub Actions).
• 2+ years of infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• 1+ years of event-driven development (SQS, SNS, Kafka, Kinesis).
• Experience with automated DB DDL (Liquibase, Flyway).
• Experience with containerized apps (Docker) and orchestration (AWS ECS, Kubernetes).
• Experience with Git as source control.

Responsibilities

• Build features to collect, moderate, and deliver user-generated content.
• Become an expert on multiple codebase areas while understanding overall architecture.
• Contribute to product development lifecycle from ideation to maintenance.
• Collaborate across teams including DevOps, QA, Front-End, and product managers.

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, become part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow.

Project Description: Client is looking for a Senior Software Engineer will work closely with other engineers of varying disciplines (DevOps, QA, Front-End ReactJS, etc), product, as well as other parts of the organization. They craft applications in Java/Kotlin, leveraging AWS, CircleCI, and Terraform. We are always looking to adopt modern technology to solve business challenges.

Responsibilities

• Build out features and solutions to collect, moderate, and/or deliver user-generated content to our customers
• Become an expert on multiple of our solutions and areas of our codebase, while understanding the larger architecture of our entire suite of solutions
• Participate in technical brainstorming and knowledge transfer sessions; provide technical advice at a team level and a department level
• Communicate across teams by collaborating with fellow engineers, product managers, UX designers, operations, and other development teams to build a holistic experience
• Proactively identify pain points and potential issues within our architecture and code base, and proactively tackle tech debt
• Contribute to each step of the product development process, from ideation and design, to planning and architecting, to building out the solution and infrastructure, to testing, to releasing, and maintenance
• Participate, build, and implement department CI/CD, application monitoring, security, and general developer tooling initiatives
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 6+ years of full-stack application development in our language stack (Kotlin, Java) and with AWS
• 5+ years of experience developing APIs for front-end applications
• 5+ years of strong experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and large data sets
• 2+ years of experience leveraging and maintaining CI/CD tooling (CircleCI, Drone, GitHub Actions)
• 2+ years of experience leveraging infrastructure as code using Terraform
• 1+ years of experience with event-driven development (SQS, SNS, Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub) and idempotent patterns
• Previous experience leveraging automated database DDL (Liquibase, Flyway)
• Previous experience leveraging automated database DDL (Liquibase, Flyway)
• Previous experience with object data stores (AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage, GCP Cloud Storage) and/or document data stores (AWS DynamoDB, MongoDB, NoSQL)
• Previous experience building containerized applications (Docker) and deploying them to orchestration (AWS ECS, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm)
• Experience with source control tools such as Git
