Job summary

Citibank (Switzerland) AG is seeking an Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst AVP in Pune, India. You will design and build scalable full stack applications focused on React.js, modern UI, and Java backend microservices.

Expect modernizing Angular apps to React, RESTful services, and data pipelines with Kafka. You'll collaborate with global teams, participate in Agile processes, and work with Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift in a cloud-native environment.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of experience in full stack development
• Strong expertise in React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), and TypeScript
• Experience with state management (Redux or Context API)
• Prior experience with Angular (AngularJS or Angular 2+)
• Strong backend experience in Java 8+, Spring, Spring Boot, Microservices
• Experience building REST APIs and distributed systems
• Experience with Kafka or similar pub/sub technologies
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server and NoSQL databases
• Understanding of cloud-native architectures and microservices patterns
• Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift
• Experience with AI coding assistants
• Strong coding, problem-solving, and debugging skills
• Experience working in Agile and global team environments
• Preferred: Experience in financial services or enterprise systems
• Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

Overview The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst (AVP) is an intermediate-level position responsible for developing and enhancing application systems in coordination with global technology teams. This role is suited for a strong React-focused full stack developer with prior experience in Angular and Java-based backend systems, contributing to modern, scalable, and cloud-native applications.
