Job summary

Citibank (Switzerland) AG is seeking a hands-on Senior Full Stack Developer to design, build, and support enterprise-scale applications using modern full-stack technologies. You will own end-to-end delivery, from architecture to deployment and production support, in a cloud-enabled, agile environment.

The role requires expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Angular/React, and AI-assisted development, with mentoring duties for junior engineers and collaboration with global teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience with at least 5 years in full-stack development.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Java 17+ Spring Boot & Microservices Angular (15+) and/or React REST API Development Kafka, Solace, JMS Redis, Hazelcast Oracle, MongoDB, Snowflake Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps CI/CD.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Full Stack Developer to design, build, and support enterprise-scale applications using modern full-stack technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Angular/React, Cloud Technologies, and AI-assisted development practices. This role requires end-to-end ownership of application delivery, from architecture and development through deployment and production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, cloud-ready applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
• Build modern web applications using Angular and/or React with TypeScript.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs and event-driven services using Kafka and messaging platforms.
• Implement caching and performance optimisation solutions using Redis and Hazelcast.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, AI coding assistants, GenAI platforms) to improve engineering productivity and code quality.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architecture, QA, DevOps, and Business stakeholders in Agile teams.
• Drive application modernization, automation, observability, and engineering best practices.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical leadership across the team.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience with at least 5 years in full-stack development.
• Strong hands-on expertise in: Java 17+ Spring Boot & Microservices Angular (15+) and/or React REST API Development Kafka, Solace, JMS Redis, Hazelcast Oracle, MongoDB, Snowflake Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps CI/CD Solid understanding of: Object-Oriented Design Design Patterns Data Structures & Algorithms Secure Coding Practices Performance Tuning & Troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Azure and/or AWS Cloud platforms.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments.
• Knowledge of API Security, OAuth2, JWT, and Zero Trust principles.
• Experience building AI-enabled applications using LLMs, RAG, AI Agents, Vector Databases, or AI orchestration frameworks.
• Experience with observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or Prometheus.
• Banking or Financial Services experience preferred.
