Job summary

Innovista Labs in Gurugram seeks a hands-on engineer to build and launch web and mobile products. You will own end-to-end delivery from brief to deployment, collaborating with the founder and an AI/product generalist to ship high-quality solutions.

The role requires mobile apps with React Native, web frontend with React/Next.js, and backend using Node.js or Python/FastAPI; plus cloud infra such as Azure, Supabase, PostgreSQL and Firebase.

About Innovista Labs

Innovista Labs is the parent company of ThePrepLab and undertakes technology projects across different domains. ThePrepLab helps educators create and evaluate assessments, using AI to simplify question extraction, formatting, grading and OMR evaluation. We are building a small team to explore, validate and launch new products at Innovista Labs. You will work directly with the founder, with access to company equipment, AI subscriptions and infrastructure, to turn early ideas into working products.

About the role

Build and launch web products and mobile applications at Innovista Labs. You will independently own implementation and delivery with minimal input—from understanding the product brief and choosing a practical technical approach to development, deployment and ongoing improvements. You will work closely with the founder and an AI/product generalist, taking responsibility for the complete technical delivery of each product.

Preferred background: Independently built and launched mobile apps and new products.

Key responsibilities

• Build responsive web applications and mobile apps, including their backend services and databases.
• Translate early product ideas into a focused first release.
• Implement authentication, APIs, payments, notifications and third-party integrations as required.
• Integrate AI features and workflows, considering output quality, latency and cost.
• Configure cloud infrastructure, environments, deployment pipelines, logging, monitoring and backups.
• Test, debug and improve security, performance and reliability.
• Iterate based on customer feedback and maintain products after launch.
• Document technical decisions and setup so the team can maintain your work.

Requirements

• Location: Must currently be based in Gurugram, Haryana and available to work in-office at our Gurugram office.
• Mobile apps - mandatory: Hands-on experience building and delivering mobile apps for Android and/or iOS, with examples you can demonstrate. React Native/Expo experience is particularly relevant.
• Web and backend: Strong working knowledge of React/Next.js, JavaScript/TypeScript and backend development using Node.js or Python/FastAPI.
• End-to-end ownership: Ability to independently deliver a product across frontend, mobile app, backend, database and deployment with minimal input.
• Infrastructure: Practical ability to work with Azure Cloud, Supabase, PostgreSQL, Firebase and cloud storage, including configuration, authentication, permissions, integrations and troubleshooting.
• Engineering: Experience with Git, environment configuration, secure secrets management, testing and production debugging.
• AI tools: Ability to use AI coding tools effectively while reviewing, testing and taking responsibility for their output.
• Working style: Clear communication, ownership and the ability to make progress with minimal supervision.

Strongly preferred

Candidates who share a mobile app and a deployed product they personally built, explain which parts they owned, and describe their deployment approach and use of AI tools will be strongly preferred. App-store links, repositories, demos or a short walkthrough are welcome.
