Job summary

GrowthGear is seeking engineers to design, develop, and ship features across the frontend and backend of production applications. You will translate product requirements into clean, maintainable implementations and own features through all lifecycle stages.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop and ship features across the frontend and backend of production applications.
• Translate product and business requirements into clean, maintainable technical implementations.
• Own features through the complete lifecycle — technical design, development, testing, deployment and iteration.
• Contribute to architectural decisions around APIs, application structure, databases and integrations.
• Take increasing ownership of the technical architecture of individual modules and services.
• Build and integrate REST APIs and third-party services.
• Design and work with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Debug production issues and improve application performance, reliability and maintainability.
• Write reusable, well-structured and documented code.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
• Work closely with product, design, data and AI teams to build complete product experiences.
• Help guide interns or junior team members through code reviews, technical discussions and implementation support.
• Experiment with and integrate AI/LLM capabilities into applications where relevant.

What We’re Looking For

• 1-2 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript and modern web development.
• Experience with a modern frontend framework such as React, Next.js or equivalent.
• Experience building backend applications using Node.js, Python or a comparable backend framework.
• Good understanding of REST APIs, authentication and client-server architecture.
• Working knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL/MySQL and database design fundamentals.
• Understanding of Git and collaborative software development workflows.
• Ability to structure applications and write modular, maintainable code.
• Good understanding of fundamental concepts such as data structures, APIs, databases, asynchronous programming and application architecture.
• Ability to independently investigate technical problems rather than depending entirely on predefined implementation instructions.
• Strong ownership mindset and willingness to learn unfamiliar technologies when required.
