Job summary

INPRO is seeking a capable backend engineer to design, build, and maintain web applications and RESTful APIs for bioinformatics workflows. You will work on server-side logic with Python (Django/Flask/FastAPI) or Node.js, and integrate with SQL/NoSQL databases while ensuring data security for sensitive genomic data.

Qualifications

• Backend: Experience in Python (Django, Flask, FastAPI) or Node.js.
• Databases: Relational (MySQL / PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB / Cassandra).
• Understanding of RESTful API design.
• Familiar with Git and CI/CD practices.
• Cloud basics (AWS / GCP / Azure) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain web applications (frontend + backend) to support bioinformatics workflows, data analysis pipelines, and internal tools.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs / microservices for data management, processing, and integration.
• Work with Python (or other backend languages) to write server-side logic, data models, and business logic.

• Implement data security and access control for sensitive scientific/genomic data.
