Job summary

msg global solutions is seeking a skilled backend developer to help modernize a banking application. You will work from requirements through testing and deployment, building a replacement with a modern technology stack.

You will contribute to design, implementation, and integration, collaborating with cross-functional teams. Strong Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and containerized deployments are essential assets. Join a global, diverse team delivering impactful IT solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong backend development with Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing REST APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Strong Hibernate/JPA and SQL skills.
• Frontend familiarity with React/TypeScript is a plus.
• Experience with automated unit, integration, and application testing.
• Git, GitLab/GitHub and CI/CD pipelines know-how.
• Hands-on Docker and Kubernetes deployments.
• Understanding of microservices and distributed apps.
• Able to refine and estimate user stories and own features through deployment.
• Commitment to clean code, reviews, debugging and quality.

What you will do

You will contribute to the modernization of a banking application by building its replacement using a modern technology stack. You will contribute from requirements and implementation through testing and deployment.

What we are looking for

Must have

• Strong backend development experience with Java 21/Kotlin and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and implementing REST APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Strong experience with Hibernate/JPA, SQL.
• Good frontend development experience with React and TypeScript.
• Experience with automated unit, integration and application testing.
• Good working knowledge of Git, GitLab/GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes-based deployments.
• Good understanding of microservices and distributed applications.
• Able to refine, estimate and independently implement user stories.
• Strong focus on clean code, code reviews, debugging and quality.
• Able to own features from requirement clarification through deployment.

Nice to have

• Experience with RabbitMQ, Redis and WebSocket/STOMP-based communication.
• Exposure to AWS/EKS and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with Helm, ArgoCD and Terraform.
• Knowledge of Keycloak, OIDC and JWT-based authentication.
• Experience with OpenTelemetry, Grafana and Prometheus.
• Knowledge of Hexagonal Architecture and Domain-Driven Design.
• Experience supporting and troubleshooting production environments.
• Banking domain knowledge, particularly loan-related applications.
