Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Bengaluru, India seeks an Associate in External Reporting to manage financial statements and management reporting while maintaining strong controls.

You will coordinate quarterly regulatory requirements, validate balance sheet items, and support reporting across lines of business and regulators. You will apply current accounting treatments and ensure accurate data submission to regulators, contributing to data quality and continuous improvements in external reporting

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a Finance organization with exposure to accounting, financial statements, or regulatory reporting.
• Strong time management, problem solving, and written and oral communication skills.

• Excellent Excel and computer skills; strong analytical and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Apply up-to-date product, industry, and market knowledge in specialty areas of reporting.
• Consolidate, review, and analyze quarterly financial data for accuracy and variance.
• Coordinate data collection and quarterly results with lines of business, Regulatory Controllers, and reporting teams.
• Assist in issue assessment and communicate financial information clearly to stakeholders.
• Participate in production, review, and filing of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual regulatory reports.
• Adhere to control procedures to ensure accurate regulatory filings and disclosures.
• Ensure data submission to regulators is accurate and complete.
• Interpret regulatory and SEC requirements and coordinate internal/external policies.
• Establish relationships with business lines and regulators and contribute to data quality improvement projects.

You are a strategic thinker passionate about driving solutions in External reporting.You have found the right team.

As an Associate within the External Reporting function, you will oversee financial statements and management reporting while maintaining a sound control environment. You will apply appropriate accounting treatments and support compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements. You will coordinate the preparation of quarterly regulatory requirements, validate balance sheet items, and support balance sheet usage and reporting.

Job responsibilities

• Apply up-to-date product, industry, and market knowledge in specialty areas of reporting
• Consolidate, review, and analyze quarterly financial data for accuracy and completeness, including quarter-over-quarter variance analytics
• Coordinate data collection and quarterly business results with various lines of business, Regulatory Controllers, and reporting teams
• Assist in the thorough assessment of the issues and outcomes
• Communicate financial information clearly to the lines of business and flag potential issues
• Participate in the production, review, and filing of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports for regulatory agencies used to compile widely-used portfolio position statistics
• Adhere to proof and control procedures to ensure accurate reconciliation between regulatory filings, Securities and Exchange Commission filings, and other published financial reports (e.g., Form 10-Q, Annual Report/Form 10-K, Call Report, FR Y-9C, Pillar III)
• Adhere to various control procedures and edit checks to ensure the integrity of reported financial results
• Ensure accurate and complete data submission to regulators
• Interpret and define regulatory and/or Securities and Exchange Commission requirements and coordinate internal and external policies
• Establish and manage relationships with the line of business and external regulatory agency constituents through ongoing partnership and dialogue, including participation in continuous improvement efforts around data quality review and external reporting improvement projects
