Job summary

Datum Technologies Group in India is seeking a seasoned Frontend Developer to design, implement, and optimize modern web interfaces using Next.js and React. You will collaborate with product and backend teams to translate designs into high‑quality code and ensure scalable performance across browsers and devices.

The role requires 3+ years of experience, strong JS/React skills, and a background in modern frontend tooling. Hybrid work mode with two days in the office is offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience as a Frontend Developer.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Extensive experience with React.js and Next.js.
• Experience with Redux or React Context API and responsive design.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming.
• Experience with build tools such as Webpack, Babel, or Vite.

Work Experience: 8+ years

Work Mode: Hybrid ( 2days WFO)

Work Location: Chennai, Mumbai and Gurgaon

Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and deploy highly responsive and scalable user interfaces using JavaScript frameworks, primarily Next.js and React.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, and backend developers to translate design mockups and user stories into functional and engaging web applications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code following best practices and coding standards.
• Optimize application performance, responsiveness, and scalability across various devices and browsers.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring code quality.
• Contribute to the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of existing applications, including those built with PHP (Zend Framework/Laminas) and legacy JavaScript frameworks like Backbone.js.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex frontend issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest frontend technologies, trends, and best practices, and advocate for their adoption where appropriate.
• Actively participate in agile ceremonies (e.g., stand‑ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
• Proactively identify areas for improvement in our development processes and tools.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 3+ years of professional experience as a Frontend Developer.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Tailwind CSS, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Extensive experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, particularly React.js and Next.js.
• Solid understanding of component‑based architecture, state management (e.g., Redux, React Context API), and front‑end routing.
• Experience with build tools such as Webpack, Babel, or Vite.
• Proficiency with version control systems, especially Git.
• Demonstrable experience working with RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming.
• Ability to write comprehensive unit and integration tests for frontend components.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Bonus Points (Nice to Have):

• Experience with server‑side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG) in Next.js.
• Familiarity with PHP and frameworks like Zend Framework or Laminas.
• Exposure to legacy JavaScript frameworks such as Backbone.js.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and best practices.
