Job summary

LightSpun is hiring a Frontend Engineer to build data-dense, high-quality web applications used by providers, payers, brokers, and members. You will work with product, design, and backend teams in Bengaluru and the US to deliver accessible interfaces for complex workflows.

The role emphasizes performance, reliability, and maintainable frontend code, with opportunities to contribute to our design system and frontend standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS or related field.
• 3+ years of professional frontend development experience, preferably in a SaaS environment.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and React, including state management, hooks, and component architecture.
• Solid grounding in HTML, CSS, responsive design, and web accessibility fundamentals.
• Experience consuming REST and/or GraphQL APIs and handling authentication, caching, and error states cleanly.
• Experience with testing tools (Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright/Cypress) and modern build tooling.
• Experience building data-dense enterprise UIs (tables, forms, dashboards, workflow tools) is a strong plus.
• Experience in the insurance or healthcare industry is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and clear communication skills.

About the Role

We are seeking a Frontend Engineer to build the web experiences that providers, payers, brokers, and members use every day. You will work on complex, data-dense workflows — claims processing, credentialing, onboarding — where clarity, correctness, and performance directly affect our users' work. You will partner closely with product, design, and backend engineers in Bengaluru and the US to ship polished, accessible, and reliable interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Product Development: Design, build, and maintain responsive, high-quality web applications and reusable component libraries for our platform.
• UX Quality: Translate designs into pixel-accurate, accessible (WCAG-aware) interfaces. Sweat the details on loading states, error handling, and edge cases in data-heavy workflows.
• Performance & Reliability: Profile and optimize rendering, bundle size, and API interaction patterns. Write meaningful unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for the surfaces you own.
• API Collaboration: Work with backend engineers to shape clean, frontend-friendly API contracts, and integrate with our microservices and AI-driven features.
• Craft & Consistency: Contribute to our design system and frontend standards. Participate in code reviews and help keep the codebase consistent, typed, and maintainable.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional frontend development experience, preferably in a SaaS environment.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and React (or a comparable modern framework), including state management, hooks, and component architecture.
• Solid grounding in HTML, CSS, responsive design, and web accessibility fundamentals.
• Experience consuming REST and/or GraphQL APIs and handling authentication, caching, and error states cleanly.
• Experience with testing tools (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright/Cypress) and modern build tooling.
