Job summary

LightSpun is building an AI-first SaaS platform for healthcare administration from Bengaluru. You will lead a high-performing engineering team, contribute to architecture, and drive scalable microservices while collaborating with US product and business teams.

You will mentor engineers, shape technical direction, and ensure robust, compliant solutions across credentialing, onboarding, and claims workflows in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 7+ years in software development with 3+ years in Engineering Manager role.
• Hands-on with microservices, scalable distributed systems in production.
• Proficiency in Python; Golang is a plus.
• Experience with cloud platforms and container orchestration.
• Experience with Agentic AI frameworks and data pipelines.
• Healthcare or US health insurance domain experience is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Our work involves building AI-first scalable services for healthcare administration tasks such as credentialing, onboarding, and managing brokers, providers, members, and claims.

About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and results-oriented Engineering Manager to lead a dynamic engineering team based in our Bengaluru office. This is a pivotal, hands-on leadership role where you will not only manage and mentor engineers but also actively contribute to the architecture, design, and implementation of our scalable and robust SaaS platform. You will drive the adoption of modern, microservices-based and agentic-AI architectures and ensure the delivery of high-quality, efficient software solutions, collaborating closely with our US-based product and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, manage, and mentor a team of high-performing engineers in Bengaluru, fostering innovation and excellence. Focus on career growth, performance management, and fostering a collaborative, supportive environment.
• Hands-on Architecture & Development: Actively participate in the architectural design, driving decisions for platform scalability, reliability, and maintainability, with a strong focus on microservices. Conduct code reviews, provide constructive technical guidance, and occasionally write code to lead by example and resolve complex technical issues.
• System Architecture & Strategy: Design and implement robust, scalable system architectures to support company growth. Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and tools, ensuring platform security and compliance with industry standards (e.g., HITRUST, SOC 2, HIPAA).
• Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (product management, QA, operations, and business stakeholders), including US-based counterparts, to define requirements and solutions. Maintain reasonable working-hours overlap with US time zones for key meetings. Communicate technical concepts clearly to all audiences. Participate in agile development processes and document architectural and system designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager, with a total of 7+ years in professional software development, preferably in a SaaS environment.
• Deep, hands-on knowledge of microservices architecture and proven experience designing and implementing scalable and distributed systems that are in production.
• Strong proficiency in Python. Experience in Golang is a plus.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization/orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with Agentic AI frameworks and building scalable systems for compliance is a strong plus.
• Experience developing data crawlers or high-volume data ingestion pipelines is a plus.
• Experience in the insurance or healthcare industry (US healthcare is a strong plus).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
