Job summary

Flexing It is seeking an experienced Data Engineer with SAP HANA capability to support rapid development of priority dashboards on the existing data stack in Mumbai. The role focuses on data modelling, data provisioning, and backend data logic to deliver enterprise reporting solutions.

You will work with SAP analysts and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications, optimise performance, and ensure robust documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in SAP/HANA data engineering or reporting.
• Strong expertise in SAP HANA data modelling, including calculation views, SQLScript, stored procedures, and HANA Studio functionalities.
• Hands‑on experience with S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, SAP HANA Native development, and advanced SQL for complex data engineering and reporting solutions.
• Skilled in data extraction, transformation, reconciliation, aggregations, performance tuning, and building reporting‑ready datasets for business intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Understand the SAP/HANA reporting landscape and available datasources.
• Design, develop, and maintain calculation views (Graphical & Script-based), Analytic Views, and Attribute Views.
• Write complex SQL scripts, stored procedures, and table functions using SQL Script in SAP HANA Studio.
• Analyse and tune SQL queries and data models for maximum performance.
• Implement Data Services or SDI for data provisioning from source systems.
• Utilize CDS views and OData services to build virtual data models in S/4HANA.
• Collaborate with SAP functional analysts to translate business requirements into technical specs.
• Perform testing, defect resolution, and create detailed technical documentation.

Our client, is a multi-specialty tertiary care hospital and is looking to engage with an experienced Data Engineer with SAP and HANA capability to support rapid development of priority business and operational dashboards on the existing data stack

Key Responsibilities

1. Understanding the existing SAP / HANA reporting landscape and available datasources.
2. Data Modelling: Design, develop, and maintain complex Calculation Views (Graphical &Script-based), Analytic Views, and Attribute Views.
3. Scripting: Write complex Stored Procedures, Table Functions, and SQL scripts usingSQL Script in SAP HANA Studio.
4. Performance Optimization: Analyse and tune SQL queries and data models for maximumperformance.
5. ETL/Data Provisioning: Implement Data Services or SDI (Smart Data Integration) fordata provisioning from source systems.
6. S/4HANA Development: Utilize Core Data Services (CDS) views and OData services tobuild virtual data models.
7. Collaboration: Work with SAP functional analysts to translate business requirements intotechnical specs.
8. Support & Documentation: Perform testing, defect resolution, and create detailedtechnical documentation.

Skills Required

• Experience working with IDT, SLT, HANA SDA, Tableau, and Power BI to support enterprise reporting and dashboard development.
• Strong understanding of master and transactional data, revenue logic, billing workflows, department and payer mapping, and operational reporting processes.
• Exposure to healthcare, hospital, finance, billing, and operations data environments, including HIS/EMR and SAP IS-H workflows.
• Proven capability in backend data logic development across end-to-end reporting/dashboard projects with strong debugging and issue‑resolution skills.
• Knowledge of data lineage documentation, business rules, data privacy practices, and awareness of Databricks/data lakehouse concepts.
