Job summary

Vahan.ai is seeking a commercially oriented finance leader to go beyond traditional reporting and partner with the leadership team to build financial discipline and support growth.

The role will focus on unit economics, FP&A, cash management and working capital for a B2B marketplace/high-growth startup, with frequent collaboration with founders and leadership. 2-3 days per week in the Bengaluru office is expected.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of relevant finance experience in high-growth environments.

• Strong exposure to FP&A, cash management and working capital.

Responsibilities

• Build and own unit economics and marketplace metrics models.
• Own AOP and rolling forecasts; lead monthly variance reviews.
• Manage 13-week cash-flow forecasts; monitor burn and runway guardrails.
• Own receivables forecasting and collections; track 60-90+ day DSO cycles.
• Partner with founders and leadership on financial decisions and dashboards.

Job description

We are looking for a commercially oriented finance leader who can go beyond traditional reporting and work closely with the leadership team to build financial discipline and support business growth.

The ideal candidate will have experience in B2B businesses, marketplaces or high-growth startups, with strong exposure to unit economics, FP&A, cash management and working capital.

Key Responsibilities

1. Unit Economics & Marketplace Metrics

• Build and own transaction-level / placement-level contribution margin models.
• Track and analyse CAC per worker, cost per placement, take rate, contribution margin and
• payback period.
• Develop cohort and retention economics.
• Translate unit economics into actionable decisions around pricing, growth and burn.

2. FP&A & Cash Management

• Own the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and rolling forecasts.
• Lead monthly financial and variance reviews with business and leadership teams.
• Build and maintain 13-week cash-flow forecasts.
• Establish and monitor burn, spend and runway guardrails.
• Identify financial risks early and translate them into clear business actions.

3. Working Capital & Receivables

• Manage working capital in a business with large enterprise customers.
• Own receivables forecasting and collections discipline.
• Track and manage 60-90+ day DSO cycles.
• Build escalation mechanisms for delayed collections.
• Assess the cash-flow impact of commercial decisions and support credit-risk management.

4. Business Partnership

• Partner closely with founders and business leaders on financial and strategic decisions.
• Bring a strong financial lens to growth investments, pricing, cost structures and resource allocation.
• Build simple, decision-oriented financial dashboards and insights.
• Help create a culture of financial discipline across the organisation.

What We're Looking For

• 7-10 years of relevant finance experience, with meaningful experience in a high-growth
• Prior experience in B2B, marketplace or startup businesses.
• Strong hands-on experience across FP&A, business finance and cash management.
• Proven understanding of marketplace / transaction-level unit economics.
• Experience managing enterprise receivables and working-capital cycles.
• Strong analytical and commercial thinking, with the ability to connect financial metrics to business outcomes.
• Comfortable working with ambiguity and operating hands-on in a lean startup environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence business leaders through data and insights.
• Willingness to work 2-3 days a week from Vahan's Bengaluru office.
